YALL AI IS GETTING OUT OF HAND.

I needed a reference for this chapter and I literally got it to generate this image. It's not perfect, definitely not what I always imagine, but close enough to paint me a picture.

You guys feel free to imagine the characters however you like.

**********

 It was Friday.

Game day.

And I was fucking panicking.

The moment school ended, nerves rushed over me. My heart fluttered whenever I thought about West's semi-final game.

Standing in my room, I stared at his jersey draped across my bed.

I was wearing his jersey.

Everyone would be there—school, parents, scouts. This wasn't just any game, and West wanted me to wear his number.

I grabbed the jersey and slipped it over my head. The soft fabric smelled like him, and though it swallowed me whole, it looked good with black shorts and my favourite shoes. I did my hair and makeup, making sure I looked good.

Tonight was different. I wanted to look good for him.

He asked me to wear his jersey, and if I was doing this. I was going to do it right. The bold '11' on the back and his name—West.

No one had worn this jersey before, and here I was, a target for almost 7,000 eyes.

And more on live tv.

Everyone would watch him, but the moment I stepped in wearing this, their attention would shift.

My entire school be there, the game was open to public as well, other schools, parents, teachers, scouts, and camera and news crew.

Zora and her bitches would obviously be there. All the sports teams, which was a given.

So would Jaxon Robins—my ex. The thought of him seeing me like this sent my stomach plummeting.

Jaxon had always wanted me to wear his jerseys, but I refused. Now, I was wearing West's jersey, and I could already picture Jaxon's glares and taunts.

For a moment, I considered backing out, just blending in with my regular clothes. But then West's face lit up in my mind when I promised him I'd wear it.

I didn't want to disappoint him.

Taking a deep breath, I reminded myself this wasn't about Jaxon or the rumours.

With one last glance in the mirror, I left my room. My parents were downstairs in the living room.

Linda was going to come over to watch the game here with them on Live TV because the stadium felt like to much.

"You look so good, honey!" Mum exclaimed. Dad nodded, ruffling my hair.

"Kaleb's jersey, huh? Important role tonight," he said.

"It's just a jersey, Dad," I replied.

Mum laughed. "No one's ever worn that jersey before. It's a big deal."

I sighed, but they were right.

"Just text us when you arrive," Mum said.

Aiden came down next. "Alex is picking me up. We're meeting friends from Burwin, and I'm bringing Maya." he murmured the last bit.

"Bringing Maya, huh?" I teased, grinning.

"She's just a friend," he shot back.

"Sure she is. Bring your friend to the biggest senior game."
