I know for sure this is a chapter I've been waiting for.

Song is 'Stuck with U' by Justin Bieber & Ariana Grande.

West's POV:

Lying there, inches from Mads, I was hit by this weird feeling.

It wasn't like the usual adrenaline rush I got from a game or flirting with some girl just for the hell of it. This was different.

There was this calmness between us, but it still had my heart racing. She had that effect on me—got under my skin in ways I didn't want to admit.

But before I could even figure out what the hell I was feeling.

"So... what now?" she sighs.

"We could go downstairs, join the others, and their bullshit." I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose.

She hummed in response still looking at me.

I groaned, rubbing my eyes, I was so fucking tired and the countless hours of lost sleep was finally starting to get to me.

I was fucking exhausted.

I felt her eyes on me before I even glanced her way.

Mads had this thing where she'd try to be subtle, but she wasn't fooling anyone—not me, anyway.

When I turned my head slightly, she was already looking away, like she hadn't just been staring.

But I caught her. The way her eyes lingered just a second too long, the way her lips pressed together, like she was trying not to smile.

I was way to tired for this.

She looked at me like that again.

It made something in my chest tighten, which was ridiculous because this was Mads.

Still, I couldn't shake it. I ran a hand through my hair, muffling a yawn, my eyes felt heavy and out of the corner of my eye, I saw her reaction—a tiny smile she was trying to hide.

What the hell was that?

Why did it feel... different? I didn't even know what she was thinking, but whatever it was, it made her look at me like I wasn't just the guy who annoyed her.

I tried to shrug it off, but my mind kept going back to that look. It wasn't the usual eye roll, the glare, or the sarcastic smirk she'd shoot my way.

It was softer. Warm, even.

And damn if that didn't get to me more than it should have.

"What?" I finally asked, my voice slightly muffled, still rubbing my eyes.

"Nothing." she bit her lip, shaking her head with a small smile.

Bit her lip.

That made me take a breath.

I scrunched my face slightly, "Your weird."

She rolled my eyes, "Your face is weird." and there she was.

I laughed, shifting closer to her, it wasn't subtle but I didn't care.

Our faces were close, closer than they probably should've been, eyes locked, and for a moment, the whole room felt too quiet, too still.

Neither of us moved, just lying there, staring at each other.

"Do you think they even notice we're gone?" she whispered, so quite I almost didn't hear her.
