West's fingers trailed up my thigh, slow and deliberate.
The lazy circles he was drawing burned against my skin, his fingertips inching higher with each pass.
Every nerve in my body was on fire.
He leaned, "You're shaking, Mads." His voice was low, teasing, "Should I stop?"
"No," I whispered.
My thighs clenched as his hand moved higher. I bit my lip, desperate to stay composed, but the way his touch lingered left me breathless.
"I didn't think so." His lips brushed against the edge of my jaw.
All I could focus on was him. His hand, his mouth, his everything.
I shifted slightly in his lap, desperate for more, but his hand stayed maddeningly still, his thumb teasing slow strokes against my skin.
"I want you so bad right now," he murmured into my hair and neck, "You don't even understand."
My heart raced as I turned to meet his eyes, dark and burning with need. But before either of us could do anything, someone called his name.
"Oi, Captain! We need you outside — it's about the footie game!"
He tensed beneath me, his jaw tightening. "I'm busy."
"It's tradition! Get your ass out here, man!"
He groaned, his forehead dropping to my shoulder. "I'm not leaving you."
I forced a smile, "It's fine. Go."
"It's not fine," he muttered, his fingers digging into my thigh, "You don't get it. All I want to do is stay here with you."
"West," I said softly, brushing a hand against his cheek. "Go. I'll be fine."
His eyes narrowed, full of frustration. But before he could argue, someone physically pulled him up so I had to get off his lap.
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, suddenly aware of a few stares. Some guys at the other end of the couch weren't even subtle, their gazes sweeping up my legs like I was some kind of show.
Disgust churned in my stomach. I grabbed my drink and stood, ignoring them to find Lia and Em.

I eventually found the girls, and stayed with them for a little bit. But I was starting to feel a bit out of place, almost tired, I figured I needed to use the bathroom and take a moment to myself.
The line for the bathroom felt endless. I leaned against the wall, my arms crossed tightly over my chest.
I shifted my weight, the hallway was cramped, warm bodies brushing past me as people came and went, laughing and shouting over the noise.
And then, I felt it — a prickle at the back of my neck.
"Madison."
That voice. That fucking voice.
I turned, my stomach twisting as Jaxon leaned casually against the wall across from me.
"What do you want?" My voice was cold, but I couldn't stop the unease creeping into my chest.
He pushed off the wall, stepping closer. "Relax. I just wanted to talk."
"I don't have anything to say to you."
