*Gon's POV* *morning*
I open my eyes and smiled.
"Time to train and to rescue Killua!" I shouted.
I jumped out of my bed and run right at the door.
"Aaaaaarrgggg!!!" I scream as I ram into the door, usuing my undamaged arm.
It creaks open and I bolt out of the room. I make a beeline for the main door when a hand pulls me back. I look back to see Leo.
"What are you doing? We need to open the door to get Killua!!" I screamed.
Leo put a hand on my mouth and told me in a whisper.
"Shh, I think Kikumi is still asleep."
"You aren't going to do any training. Your arm is still healing." Kurapika said.
"But......" I started.
"You need to heal." Mikasa said, kindly.
"Fine." I grumbled. I sat down on the couch when Zepto yelled
"Come on, grab your weight vests and let's go train!"
Everyone, except Kikumi and I, filed out with their black vests on.
I smirked and grabbed a vest, putting it on over my sling.
'I'll go check on Kikumi. She's usually up earlier than this. Maybe she would want to train with me.' I think as I head into her room.
I pull and pull on the door until it budged, creaking open slowly.
"Kikumi, time to wake up." I whisper as I enter the room.
I look around for a sleeping Kikumi, but she's not here.
"Kikumi?" I ask, but no reply.
I panic and look all around in her room until I come to her desk. Their was a note that told me Kikumi slept outside.
'I know Kikumi can take care of herself. Now, time to train!' I thought, excited.
I hopped out the window and went behind the house.
"Perfect." I said, outlould.
Then I began to do one arm push ups.
*Kikumi's POV*
I woke up feeling relieved and safe. I looked over to see Mike sitting, guarding the gate.
"Hi, Mikey." I said, really happy.
"Hello, Kiki. How are you this morning?" He asked, a small smile on his muzzle.
"I'm fine. Hey, can we play?" I asked, usuing my puppy dog eyes.
"Fine, we can do a small run. I needed to streach my legs anyway." He told me, making me jump for joy.
"Yay." I said, a smile on my muzzle.
"Ready?" He asked me, a mischievous look in his eye.
"Yes, let's go." I told him.
Then, we ran. The wind in my fur, the adrenilin pusling in my veins.
'I love running. I feel like I'm flying through the grass.' I think.
I looked over at Mikey to see him surprised. I was keeping pase with him.
He sped up a little, and so did I.
"I'm impressed. Can you keep up with me now?" He asked, rocketing into the tree.
I sped up as fast as my bruise would let me, but it wasn't fast enough. He came back and ran with me.
"What's wrong? You could normally surpass me in running." He asked.
"I got hit in the rib with a end of someone's ax. Just a small bruise."
"You've had worse..." He said, hoping I wouldn't catch it.
"What!?" I asked, confused
"When you were a pup, Rouki, you and I used to play a lot. Your dad would call you in and we go home. One time, we didn't leave. We had to watched your dad take out his belt. He beat you, Kiki. He abused his youngest child. Rouki was pissed. I was angry at him, but we didn't tell because you would have gotten in trouble. We kept it from you because you loved your father, even though he hurt you. I'm sorry." Mikey told me with a solom face.
"I-i don't remember him doing that." I stated.
Memories came flooding back to me. Papa with a bottle of beer. Mama holding me, crying.
"He w-wouldn't. He loved me. Didn't he?" I began to cry again.
"He was an alcoholic. I'm sorry if this is making you cry, but you needed to know. He was a cruel, vile man." Mikey said, sorrow in his voice.
'My dad abused me and alcohol.' I thought, not believing my ears.
I curled up next to Mikey and continue to cry. Then I fell asleep, uneasy and upset.
5 year old Kikumi (3 years before murder)
"Papa! Papa!" The little Kikumi screeched. "What do you want now, child?" Papa asked, in a disgusted tone. "I want to play with you Papa." Kikumi said, sweetly. "Can't you see I'm busy?" Papa said, staring at a blank screen, holding a bottle. "Oh, ok Papa." Kikumi said, walking away. Papa took a big drink of his bottle, then grabbed Kikumi's small arm. "Did I say you could call me Papa!?" He screamed. Kikumi flinched at his screaming. "I'm sorry, pap..." Kikumi started, interrupted by a slap to the face. Kikumi went stumbling back. Mama, Hina, and Hena came barging into the room. Mama ran to her small child. Hina and Hena ran up to Papa. "Calm down, she didn't mean it." Hena said, frantic. "Just watch the television and relax." Hina said, calmly. Mama just cooed to the crying child. "Enough!!! I want that thing out of our house. It can't use its powers and its a weak, pathetic excuse for a daughter!!!!!" He screamed as he got up. "Honey, move!" Papa said, forcefully. "NO!! I won't let you hurt our child." Mama said, with tears running down her face. Papa grabbed Mama and pryed her off of Kikumi. Hina and Hena ran to Mama, leaving Kikumi to fend for herself. Papa took off his belt. "What are you doing, Papa?!?!" Kikumi asked, terrified. Papa brought the belt up.
Smack!!
Slap!!
Crack!!
"Ahhhhhhhh!!!!" Kikumi screamed out in pain, tears flowing freely from her face. "There, that auta doo it. New, bayk to ma prograam" Papa said, slured. Kikumi just sat there, crying. Mama, Hina, and Hena came over to Kikumi and sat with her, comforting her as best they could. Papa went back to his chair with his bottle.
