"Who are you?!?" I asked, fearfully, my tail fluffed out and my ears folded in.
'Who am I, for that matter?' I questioned internally.
I looked up at the flower crown on my head and remembered somewhat of what I'd forgotten.
'I'm the Ant Princess. But that still doesn't answer my question on who these guys are.' I thought, smiling at my crown.
"Kikumi, its us." The spiky black haired kid said, all hope lost from his eyes.
"Who's '''us'''. I've never met an us before. Colt, I want to go home. I bet mom's worried." I told Colt and he nodded.
I walked away from the two boys and near Colt. I held his hand and he smiled down at me. I could see confusion, but he brushed it aside for now.
"As the princess said earlier, I will give you a 24 hour head start. This will give you kids enough time to get off this island. I hope, if you know what's good for you, you'll leave before I send people out to kill you." Colt said, going back to normal.
We walked away, the sounds of the black haired human crying echoed as we left.
Once we were back to the nest, I ran in to see my mom. I happily climbed up onto her lap and smiled, her belly more pronounced.
"Mom! Guess what? I met my first humans." I told her, and her face darkened.
"Did they do anything to you, sweetheart?" She asked, anger flashing in her eyes, but she still had a sweet voice.
"No, mom. They just....they just.....huh, I don't really remember." I said, trying to remember.
"Colt?" She turned to him, angrily.
"Mam, all they did was try to convince her to go with them. She refused and have them 24 hours to get off the island." Colt reported.
Mom nodded her head in understanding and looked down at me.
"Honey, I don't want you to go outside anymore. Its not safe for you out there. Those humans could have killed you." She said, brushing my hair out of my face.
"Ok, mom. I understand." I said, sadly.
Mom looked at me and smiled. "That's my girl." She said, happily.
"Oh, guess what?" Mom said, excitedly.
"What, mom?" I replied, excited as well.
"Your first Royal guard has been born. Would you like to name her?" She asked, trying to get up.
"Yes, I do. But mom, please, stay here. I don't want you hurting yourself." I told her, full of concern.
She sat back down, wincing, and sighed.
"Alright, my sweety. Peggy!!!" She shouted, and Peggy waddled into the room.
"Peggy!!" I shouted, running up to him and giving him a hug.
"Kikumi!" He said, picking me up, like a dad would.
"My queen?" He asked, after getting me situated.
"Take Kikumi to the Royal guard room." She said, dismissing him.
"Right away, my queen." He said, smiling down at me.
He waddled along in the dirt walls, some flowers spread out everywhere.
"Where's everyone?" I asked Peggy.
"Their relaxing from gathering food for three days straight." Peggy explained, and I smiled.
"Perfect." I said, happily.
