As soon as I was out of the tower, I started to sprint to my favorite hideout. The tree near the dog park.

I ran and ran, the tears streaming down my face. I approached the tree and turned into a fox and I climbed it. I sat on a comfortable branch, and thought.

As I thought, tears started to slip from my face and it started to rain, but no thunder. I just sobbed in the rain, letting the water drench my fur coat. I couldn't stop the flow of tears flying down my face.

"Hello?" I heard a familiar voice call out.

"Zookie?" I asked the blurry surroundings.

"Hey, are you ok?"

'No.' I thought, but I held my tongue.

"I'll be ok, thanks Zookie." I offered.

He took it and walked away, knowing I wasn't ok. A couple of minuets later, he came back, bringing another dog with him.

'No, not a dog, a wolf.' I thought.

The wolf was a brown wolf with black paws and dark green eyes.

My eyes widened in surprise.

"Rouki?!" I asked, shocked beyond belief.

"Long time, my friend. What's wrong?"

"My dad, who's still alive, killed an innocent person to make me believe that he'd killed my baby sister after sending a hunter to kill my two older sisters. My mom is dead, my papa's a psycho, trying to get me to suffer, and I have a cousin who's being kept locked up in the basement." I voiced my thoughts, telling him the situation.

"Wow. That's dark." Rouki said.

Zookie nodded in agreement.

"Kikumi?!" I heard a shout for my name.

"No, I just want to hide for a bit." I said, burying my muzzle in my paws.

"Quick, come with me." Rouki said, with a gentle nudge.

Zookie and I followed him through the rain to a little cave.

"Is this where you've been staying?" Zookie asked.

"Yea, its not easy being a criminal."

"What did you do?" I asked, worried.

"Well, I helped someone rob a bank, murdered someone out of defense, and the man is apart of a dangerous group that you know." Rouki summed up well.

I was shocked.

"Why?" Zookie asked, unbelieving.

"I needed a place to stay, and they offered it to me. I couldn't be alive today if it wasn't for them. They are the nicest spiders ever." Rouki defended.

"You know the spiders?" I asked, thinking of Kurapika.

"Yea, that's how I found you." He said, smiling, and giving patting my hair.

"You better get home before Gon and Killua get upset." Zookie said.

I nodded, giving each of them a hug before I left.

I ran home to the inn and opened the door to see Gon and Killua, rushing over to me.

I jumped as their heads collided.

Gon sat up, rubbing his head. Killua shouted

"Where were you?! What happened at the end of the fight?! You had Gon worried about you."

I flinched a little.

'Why can't they stop screaming?' I thought.

"But, Killua. You were worried too." Gon said, making me smile.

"Come on, let's get to bed. She'll explain what happened to her in the morning." Killua said, blushing a little.

I went to the little pillow that I bought at the pet store and instantly fell asleep.

*That morning*

I yawned as I sat up, stretching my paws. I opened my eyes to see Gon's brown orbs in my muzzle.

"Yip!" I barked as I jumped back, startled.

"Sorry for startling you, Kikumi." Gon apologized.

"Now explain what happened during the fight. And where you ran off to." Killua demanded.

I ran into the bathroom and I transformed into a human.

"I went to the dog park tree." I told them when I walked out.

"Why were you upset?" Killua asked, getting mad.

"It was hard to process what he said to me. I couldn't handle it well, so I left to take care of it."

I looked at Gon and he seemed pleased. Killua looked sceptical, but accepted my answer.

"Hey, Killua, its your turn to fight today. Let's go." He shouted, excited.

I flinched, but I hid it as we walked out of our room. We made our way down to the stadium, Gon and I finding a good seat, while Killua checked in.

*Time Skip* *Gon's POV*

After the show, Kikumi was riding on my shoulder. We were on our way to meet Killua when I heard.

"Who's a good boy."

I peak around the corner to see the boy Killua won against, petting a dog.

"Hello!" I shouted excitedly, making Kikumi flinch.

"Oh, hi. My name's Zushi and this is Zookie."

The dog barked and I smiled. Suddenly, Killua came out.

"Yo." He said.

"Good job Killua." I told him.

"Yip." Kikumi yipped in agreement.

"Good battle." Zushi said.

Suddenly this man, who appeared behind us.

"Oh, hello Kite." Zushi said to the tall man.

"Hello. I know that all of you want to get to the top floor, but unless you come, you won't make it."

"Why not?" Killua asked, rudely.

"Come. I'll show you." Kite beckoned.

We all followed him, except for Zookie and Kikumi.

*Kikumi's POV*

As the numbers on the elevator went up, I sat and chatted with Zookie when I noticed my dad walking out of the other elevator. I recoiled and hid behind Zookie.

"What's wrong?" He asked me.

"My Papa." Was all I could say.

My Papa walked closer to me and sneered as he kicked me, full force, across the room.

"Don't call me PAPA, You little mutt!"

I would have slid and hit the wall, but Zookie caught me.

"Are you ok?" He asked, really concerned.

"Yes." I said as I jumped up, ignoring the pain in my side.

I was about to lunge at him when he disappeared. I turned into my human self, calmed down, and sat with Zookie as Gon and Killua came back. Gon looked so startled, and Killua unnerved.

"What's wrong guys?" I asked.

"Teach us." Killua said, turning to Kite.
