~George Lynch POV POV POV~
"Don, we have to include "Dream Warriors" in the setlist. It's got this incredible energy that I know the crowd will love." I said enthusiastically. "I'm not so sure, George. It's a great song, but it's kind of a slow build, don't you think? We've already got a lot of high-energy numbers." He said frowning.
"That's exactly why we need it. We're hitting the audience with non-stop high energy. "Dream Warriors" will give them a chance to catch their breath. It'll create a dynamic flow." I said defensively as I threw my hands up. "I get that, but we've got other songs that also offer a breather. Plus, "Dream Warriors" isn't as well known. We could lose momentum if the crowd isn't into it." He said crossing his arms.
"That's just it, Don. It's not about how well-known the song is. It's about how it makes people feel. This song has a way of connecting with the audience on a different level. And if they're not familiar with it, it's a chance for them to experience something new." I said passionately as he rolled his eyes. "I'm worried about the risk. We've got to think about the overall flow and keeping the energy up. Maybe we can work it in somewhere else, but I'm not convinced it should be on the main setlist."
"I understand your concern, but sometimes taking a risk is what makes a set unforgettable. Remember when we played "In My Dreams" that one time? It wasn't on the setlist, but it turned out to be a highlight. "Dream Warriors" could be that kind of moment." I said pleadingly. "I see your point. "In My Dreams" did turn out well, but that was a different situation. Let's say we try it in the middle of the set and see how it goes. If it doesn't work, we can adjust." He said softening up as I giggled and clapped.
"That's fair. I think it'll really shine if we give it a chance. Trust me, the audience will appreciate the change of pace." I said smiling as he nodded. "Alright, we'll give it a shot. But let's keep an eye on how it plays out. If it feels off, we might need to make a quick switch." He said as I smiled, I was so grateful he's finally listening. "Absolutely. Thanks for being open to it. I think it'll be a great addition." I said as he hugged me.
That night went amazingly! The crowd loved the new song added in as I high fived Don as we went off stage. "I TOLD YOU!" I said as he laughed. "Yeah you did" He said as we saw Eric and Paul running by, barely able to stop for a second, horn dogs. "Hey Don?" I said looking at him as he looked confused, he was taking off his stage shoes. "I...well I love you-" I said looking at him as his eyes widened.
"Well, there's a 5 star Italian Restaurant still open if you want to head down there" He said as I nodded. "Yeah sure! Just let me get changed and I'll meet you outside yeah?" I said as he nodded.
~After dinner~
"That was amazing!" I said as he laughed, we were slightly tipsy on wine. "George, come here" He said as we were now in his hotel room. He leaned towards me as I smashed our lips together, immediately falling onto the bed which I still never broke the kiss. "George...I love you-" He said as I blushed. "Be mine" I said as he smiled. "I will~"
