I groaned as I woke up, feeling sore all over and with a pounding headache. I couldn't even remember how much I drank or when I got home.

Every time I go out with Lauren, it's always a wild night, and I definitely needed it. I rolled over, reaching for my phone. Beyoncé wasn't beside me, but my head was throbbing too much to think about it.

Scrolling through my messages and missed calls, I saw a bunch of birthday wishes. I can't believe I'm really 31 today.

I replied to a few messages, but then I saw one from Rihanna. Of all people. Why couldn't she just leave me alone?

Rihanna: Happy Bday, Queen🎂
: wish you were here so I could give you something.

I rolled my eyes and ignored Rihanna's text. Whatever.

I heard voices outside the door-my two girls trying to whisper. It sounded like my mini-me had an attitude.

Amora said, "I can carry it, Mama."

Beyoncé replied, "No, you can't. You'll drop it, baby.
Just carry this."

Amora stomped and huffed, "I don't want to."

Beyoncé sighed, "Here, take this. But don't drop it or Mommy's gonna be mad."

I couldn't help but laugh at them. The door finally opened, and Beyoncé and Amora walked in, arms full of gifts. Amora was holding a cake, trying so hard to prove she could handle it.

She looked up at Beyoncé and whined, "Mama, it's gonna fall! I can't!"

I just shook my head, amused. Beyonce took the cake from her just in time, and Amora ran over to me, screaming, "Happy birthday, Mommy!" as she kissed all over my face.

I smiled. "Thank you, baby." Then she looked under my covers and wrinkled her nose. "Mommy, why you naked? Eww!"

I pushed her back, laughing. "I pushed you out, ain't no 'eww.' I'm your mommy!"

Beyoncé handed me the gifts and kissed my forehead. I said, "Thank you." My head was still pounding. Beyoncé put the "31" candles on the cake and was about to light them, but I stopped her.

"Wait until I brush."

I got up, not even caring that I was naked, and walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. My head was pounding, and so was my damn coochie.

I came back into the room, and Beyoncé lit the candles. Amora said, "Make a wish, Mommy!"

I closed my eyes, thought for a second, and blew out the candles. Amora clapped, and Beyoncé smiled.

"What'd you wish for, Mommy?" Amora asked.

I smiled. "That my beautiful baby girl gets healthy and strong." Amora hugged me, and I kissed her cheek.
