Getting Romi and Raiya ready was a struggle as usual. Romi was doing her thing, trying to crawl off the bed while I was getting Raiya dressed.

"No ma'am, sit right there," I said, giving her a look.

She just babbled something, blowing bubbles like she didn't hear a word.

"You talking shit, huh?" I couldn't help but laugh.

I finished up with Raiya, and of course, she immediately started grabbing at the wipes, trying to pull them all out.

"Girl, come on," I muttered, pulling them away.

That set her off, crying like I'd done something major. "What the—okay, here." I handed her a toy, but she looked at me like I offended her, shaking her head no.

"Oh well, you're not getting the wipes back so I don't know what to tell you sis," I said, moving on to grab Romi.

Meanwhile, Raiya was screaming her head off.

"Ceraiya, you're about to take another nap," I said, more to myself than to her.

I was beyond ready to get these kids to my mom's house. Nicki knew better than to leave me alone with both of them for this long.

Right then, Nicki called on FaceTime. I picked up.

"Bae... why my baby crying like that?" she asked, side-eyeing me.

"Because I took the wipes away from her," I said, shaking my head.

She started laughing. "Which one crying? Let me guess, Raiya?"

"Yup."

Nicki switched to her baby voice. "What's wrong, fat mama?"

The second Raiya heard Nicki's voice, she perked up, crawling over to the phone like she hadn't just been screaming her lungs out. They had their little baby-talk conversation while I got Romi dressed, which gave me a much-needed breather.

"Babe, I need my blanket and charger before you come," Nicki said.

I sighed. "How long you staying?"

"For a minute, you know this is her first," she said, and I could hear the smile in her voice. "She was there for Amora"

"Just don't forget you got eight kids..." I teased.

Nicki laughed, "Just bring my stuff, bye."

After she hung up, I put my phone in my pocket, picked up the girls, and headed downstairs. I strapped them into their car seats, Romi fussing.

I gave her the pacifier, and Raiya just stared at me with the biggest attitude, like she was ready to fight.

"You wanna fight?" I said, half-joking. And why she rolled her eyes. That's Nicki's twin, through and through.
