Nai sat in his chair, trying his best to appear calm despite the swirling chaos of the event. As the newly wedded son-in-law of the Boonruang family, he had grown used to being in the center of attention, though he had never quite liked it.
Today, he and his husband, Zo, were again surrounded by guests who wanted to congratulate them. It wasn't their wedding, but being part of one of the most prominent families in the room meant they were still treated like the stars of the show.
He smiled politely at the well-wishers, but his mind was elsewhere. The only reason Nai had agreed to attend Cherd's wedding wasn't to please Zo or his in-laws.
He had his own agenda for the evening, a much more discreet and dangerous one. He was here to deliver a "special" gift to the bride and groom—one that would change the course of the wedding entirely.
In the beginning, he had felt hesitant. The idea was risky, especially at such a high-profile event, but the thought of Aum being with him gave him the courage to follow through.
Aum, who was more than just a plus one to Sailom, had his own reasons for wanting the wedding to fall apart. Together, they had planned everything meticulously.
The plan was simple: slip away from the wedding unnoticed, deliver their gift, and return before anyone noticed they were gone. Nai's heart raced at the thought of what was about to unfold, but outwardly, he remained composed.
Once they met up with Aum, both men discreetly disappeared from the wedding hall. The guests were too preoccupied with the excitement of the event to notice their absence.
The bride and groom were busy mingling, and Nai and Aum slipped out, managing to avoid the attention of even the most watchful eyes. By the time they reappeared, it was almost time for the wedding ceremony to begin.
Nai returned to his seat beside Zo, who had been none the wiser about his brief disappearance. Aum, meanwhile, settled next to Sailom.
The tension in the air was palpable, but Nai felt an odd sense of calm wash over him. He glanced at Aum, who seemed equally composed. They both knew what was coming.
As the wedding started, Nai felt the weight of curious eyes from the elder members of the Wongsrisai and Boonruang families.
He could sense their suspicion, especially as Aum's presence was still somewhat of a mystery to them. But Aum, true to his nature, ignored their prying glances. His focus was entirely on the ceremony, his gaze sharp and calculating.
The wedding followed a traditional western format, with Cherd walking down the aisle in a stunning white gown. She looked every bit the radiant bride, and the guests cooed and clapped as she made her way toward Phob, the groom, who stood waiting in his black tuxedo. They exchanged vows in front of the crowd, and everything seemed perfect, almost too perfect.
Nai's attention drifted slightly as the vows were taken. He was more interested in what was about to happen next, once the vows were out of the way.
The lights dimmed, and the pre-wedding video began to play on the large screen at the front of the hall. It started like any other wedding video—a montage of old photos of Cherd and Phob from the early days of their relationship.
Pictures of them laughing, holding hands, and attending various events together flashed across the screen. Their love story, as presented to the guests, seemed sweet and romantic, the culmination of years of devotion.
But then, as the video neared its end, something else began to play.
Nai felt the shift in the room immediately—the sudden tension in the air, the awkward glances, the hushed murmurs. The images on the screen changed, and before anyone could fully register what was happening, a new video appeared.
It was a recording of Phob, but not the kind anyone had expected.
The video showed Phob in an intimate setting, not with Cherd, but with her younger brother. The guests gasped in shock, but the nightmare was just beginning.
More clips followed, each more damning than the last—Phob in compromising positions with not only Cherd's brother but also her father.
The final nail in the coffin was a clip from just hours before the wedding, showing Phob making out with Cherd's brother in a secluded room, moments before the ceremony began.
A wave of horror spread through the hall as the guests tried to comprehend what they were seeing. The scandal was undeniable, and the explicit nature of the footage made the situation even worse.
People averted their eyes, ashamed to witness such a lewd display at what was supposed to be a celebration of love.
And then all hell broke loose.
Cherd, standing at the altar in her white gown, stared at the screen in disbelief. For a moment, it seemed as though she was frozen, unable to process the betrayal playing out before her eyes. But when the shock wore off, rage took its place.
She spun toward Phob, who had gone pale, his eyes wide with panic.
Without a word, Cherd stormed toward him and delivered a vicious kick to his legs, knocking him off balance.
The entire room erupted into chaos—guests stood up, some screaming, others rushing to Cherd's side, while others watched in morbid fascination as the scene unraveled.
Phob stumbled backward, trying to shield himself from Cherd's furious blows, but there was no escape from her wrath. The betrayal had cut too deep.
Amid the chaos, Zo noticed something strange. While everyone else in the hall was in a state of shock or horror, Nai and Aum sat calmly at their table, sipping their wine as though they were mere spectators at a theater.
There was a small, knowing smile on Aum's lips, and Nai, though composed, wore an air of satisfaction.
It didn't take Zo long to put two and two together. He had a gut feeling that Nai and Aum were behind the second video. The timing was too perfect, and their calm demeanor in the face of such chaos was all the confirmation he needed.
Zo, knowing that the wedding had officially fallen apart, felt a surprising wave of relief. He couldn't say he was upset about what had happened to Cherd; in fact, a part of him was quietly pleased. But the last thing he wanted was for his husband to get caught up in the aftermath.
He caught Sailom's eye from across the room, gesturing discreetly toward Nai and Aum. Sailom, understanding the silent message, nodded. It was time to get the two of them out of the wedding before anyone started asking questions.
Sailom quietly made his way over to their table, placing a hand on Aum's shoulder. "We should go," he whispered, his eyes darting nervously toward the growing crowd of guests who were now surrounding Cherd and Phob.
Nai looked up, catching Zo's eye. He gave a subtle nod of agreement. Their work here was done, and there was no need to stay any longer.
As they slipped out of the chaotic hall, leaving behind the crumbling wedding, Nai couldn't help but feel a sense of vindication.
The gift had been delivered, just as planned. And while the rest of the guests were left to deal with the fallout, he and Aum walked away, calm and unbothered, their mission complete.
