Gina clapped her hands together in delight the moment Sainam suggested putting Nai's new company in charge of Saifah and Jui's wedding.
"That's a wonderful idea!" she exclaimed. "Honestly, when I was arranging Zo and Moo's wedding, one of the hardest parts was choosing an event management company."
She shook her head dramatically, as if the memory alone exhausted her. "There were dozens of companies applying for the job. Dozens. But only a handful were even close to meeting my standards."
Sainam laughed knowingly while Nai forced a small smile.
"And Moo's family didn't make things any easier," Gina continued. "Every single decision I made was questioned. If I liked one company, they would find fault with it. If I rejected another, they would argue that I was being unreasonable. It was honestly frustrating."
She rolled her eyes before turning toward Nai. "But thank goodness I stood my ground and hired the company Nai was working for back then." Her expression softened immediately. "Otherwise, Zo might never have had the chance to marry someone as cute as Nai."
Nai smiled awkwardly. Under normal circumstances, the compliment would have made him blush. Today, however, his thoughts were too occupied by the conversation's true direction.
Sainam nodded in agreement. "That's true." She looked at Nai thoughtfully. "I was actually wondering whom we should hire. Then I realized we already have an event manager in the family."
"Exactly," Gina chimed in. "And Nai is Jui's best friend. He already knows what Jui likes." She grinned. "And Zo can help too. No one knows Saifah better than Zo."
"I was thinking the same thing," Sainam said. Then she looked directly at Nai. "There won't be any issues with the budget. Leave everything to us." Her voice carried complete confidence. "All I want is for the wedding to be dreamy and beautiful."
Nai swallowed. The pressure settling on his shoulders felt heavier with every passing second. Trying his best to sound casual, he carefully asked, "Isn't it a little early to be discussing the wedding?"
The two women looked at him.
"I mean..." Nai continued, choosing his words carefully. "Shouldn't we talk to P' Fah and Jui first before deciding anything? Maybe they need more time to get to know each other."
For a moment, there was silence. Then both Gina and Sainam burst into laughter.
Nai blinked. The reaction was so unexpected that he genuinely wondered if he had accidentally said something ridiculous. "Did I say something wrong?" he asked.
"No, no," Gina replied, still laughing as she tried to compose herself. She wiped at the corner of her eye. "It's just that you sound exactly like my husband did years ago."
Nai frowned.
Gina smiled fondly. "Fah and Jui can spend as much time getting to know each other as they want after marriage." Her eyes sparkled mischievously. "Just like you and Zo did."
Heat immediately crept into Nai's face.
Beside her, Sainam nodded. "Their wedding was arranged when they were children." She leaned back slightly. "If their grandparents were still alive, they would have been married the moment Jui turned seventeen."
Nai fell silent.
Seventeen. The minimum legal age for marriage in Thailand with parental consent.
And considering how much influence Jui's grandparents had held over his life, Nai knew Sainam was probably right. To Jui, his grandparents had always been more of a mother and father than his actual parents ever were. If they had still been alive, the wedding might have happened years ago.
