Zo leaned heavily against the mop handle, using it more as a walking stick than a cleaning tool. His shoulders ached, his palms stung with fresh blisters, and every muscle in his body protested the slightest movement.

His gaze slowly drifted toward the freshly made bed standing proudly in the corner of the guest room.

The thick mattress looked impossibly soft. The crisp white sheets were smooth, the fluffy pillows perfectly arranged, and the comforter looked inviting enough to swallow someone whole.

He let out a long, dramatic sigh. "...Am I the only one who feels like that bed is calling my name?"

Across the room, Sailom paused in the middle of mopping the floor. He looked at the bed. Then at Zo. Then back at the bed.

A deep sigh escaped him as he leaned against his own mop in exactly the same pose as Zo."No," he answered miserably. "You are definitely not the only one."

For a brief moment, neither of them moved. They simply stared at the bed with longing in their eyes, looking like two exhausted souls watching paradise from afar.

The past few days had completely shattered every illusion they once had about village life.

When Uncle Thun had first ordered the four of them to clean the village's guest house, they had naïvely assumed it would be a quick sweep and dusting before lunch. Instead, they had been working since sunrise.

The guest house had been left unused for months. Dust coated every surface. Spider webs hung from the ceiling. The drains were clogged. Several taps leaked. Light switches had stopped working. The carpets smelled musty. The curtains had gathered enough dust to make everyone sneeze every few minutes.

Nothing had been spared. They had swept. Mopped. Scrubbed. Polished. Washed windows. Carried furniture. Unclogged drains. Tested every tap and electrical switch.

By evening, all four of them looked less like young masters from wealthy families and more like laborers who had spent weeks on a construction site. Their clothes were stained with dirt. Their hair was messy.Sweat clung to their skin despite the cool breeze drifting through the open windows.

To make matters worse, sleeping arrangements hadn't exactly been luxurious. Instead of the oversized beds they had grown up with, the four of them had been sleeping on a raised wooden platform covered by nothing more than thin mattresses.

Every morning they woke up with sore backs. Every night they collapsed from exhaustion. So naturally... The beautifully made guest bed looked like heaven itself.

"If nobody notices..." Sailom muttered hopefully. "We could lie down for just five minutes."

"Three," Zo bargained.

"Deal."

"Absolutely not." Saifah's voice cut through their fantasy before either of them could take a single step. He was standing beside the bed, carefully slipping fresh pillowcases over the pillows. His sharp glare landed on both of them. "Don't even think about it."

Zo blinked innocently. "Think about what?"

"The bed."

"What bed?"

Saifah rolled his eyes."I just changed the sheets."

Sailom frowned."So?"

"So?" Saifah stared at him. "You seriously don't know?"

Sailom folded his arms. "What's wrong with lying on it?" He puffed out his chest dramatically."Are we not worthy enough to sleep on a bed you made?"

Saifah scoffed. "No."
