Inpu's POV
After a few hours of attempting to sleep, my father's words from the day wouldn't leave my mind.
Bryan was asleep next to me, so I was trying my hardest not to wake him, but as the night kept going, it grew harder and harder to do so.
Eventually, I just moved to the far side of the bed and began to stare out the window, just trying to distract myself enough to finally fall asleep.
It seemed like Bryan started to sleep deeply again, so I was happy one of us was getting sleep, but I could feel him start to move again suddenly.
"Thinking about something..."
"Yeah, I've got a few things on my mind"
"Care to share?"
"I'm like 99% sure I found the bomber"
"Really..? Do you want your reward?~"
"You don't want my answer first?"
"Well, you seem to have a better lead then I do, so I'll humor you~"
"Are you sure? Its the middle of the night"
"You've been stressed recently, so if you want to, I'll let you"
Before I could even think to respond, I just reacted and the two of us were lost in each other for hours.
By the time we finished, Bryan was out cold, I went harder than I thought I did apparently, but I guess I did need some stress relief.
The sun was coming up, so I figured now was a good time to inform everyone on Bryan's team to stay away.
I gave none of them any reason for it, just that it was dangerous and to consider switching base locations, but I still felt bad about it.
Once I had every message sent, I received one from my father, but the second I opened it, I was terrified.
It was a photo of Bryan's base, I knew that because I saw Jakey in the background, seemingly hurt.
My ears dropped and I felt myself just get angry...but I knew this was also going to be the worst thing to ever happen to me.
Bryan wouldn't forgive me for this, I knew my father would frame me for this, so there was no way I'd be able to convince him otherwise, after all, I did bring up that I knew who it was.
Realizing I had to leave soon, I began to grab a few things.
I went to Crystal's room once I had everything and I began to think a bit.
With everything Bryan was about to go through, there was a good chance he leaves Crystal alone a lot longer, something he hoped he'd never have to do.
As the thoughts filled my head, I also began to think about the future of my other kids, so I began to pick up Crystal before I walked over to the orbs and grabbed the youngest of them.
I knew leaving Bryan three kids that were likely to be triplets would be unfair, but I had no other choice, so I took the two I had with me, left a note for Bryan, left my ring on the table, and left.
Bryan's POV
Upon waking up, I was surprised to see Inpu wasn't in bed with me, but with how much I slept after last night, I really should've expected it.
I found it a bit odd, after all, Inpu normally looked for signs I was waking up so him not coming in at all surprised me.
It was about the middle of the day, so I went to the kitchen to try and grab something to eat, but as I did so, something on the table caught my eye.
Upon further investigation, I noticed Inpu's ring along with a note was left there, and I felt my heart drop.
The note pretty much said that Inpu was sorry it had to happen, but something bad happened and he knew I wouldn't forgive him for what happened.
Upon reading a bit more, he mentioned that he took Crystal and one of the orbs because apparently I'd be filled with work soon, but the house was completely paid for, so I didn't need to worry about it.
Confusion washed over me, what did he mean? Why did he take two of our kids but not the other three? What was going on?
As my mind was racing, I finally noticed my phone which I left on silent mode when I slept, but I noticed I had around 100 missed calls, most from my team, but one was a voicemail from Inpu.
I began to listen to his voicemail first, and to keep it short, he heavily apologized, saying that if I didn't know yet, I would soon, but he didn't want me to always be alone, so he left the three orbs, but wasn't going to let Crystal stay with a babysitter all day.
Now I was more concerned over confused, so I began to look through all of the calls from my team, and I had one from everyone but River.
Finally, I decided to call them back, but as soon as it was picked up, I could hear Kaiba panicking.
"DUDE, WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO CALL YOU FOR HOURS!! WHERE WERE YOU??"
"I've been asleep, my phone was on silent, Inpu wasn't with me when I woke up and left a note saying something happened, what happened?"
"Our base was blown up this morning when River entered, he's in the ICU right now, and with you saying Inpu wasn't home this morning..."
"You think it was him? It can't be, he was with me when the first one went off, it doesn't add up"
"But we also have to remember, he could be in cahoots with his father, someone we know is dangerous"
"You were all there that night, Inpu was greatly injured"
"He also agreed to something and we have no idea what, so regardless of whether he was the direct cause or not, he's involved in some form, did he take anything valuable?"
"If you consider your own blood valuable...which I do"
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!"
"He left in the middle of the night, or in the morning, I don't know, all I know was I woke up, both he and Crystal were gone, and so was one of our orbs"
"Bryan! What if he does something to them that will come back to bite us in the future?!"
"How was I meant to know, and even if I did, how would I have been able to prevent it?"
"I don't know, lock him out of the room with the orbs and keep the baby monitor loud so you can hear everything that goes on?"
"Look, we can keep talking about this later, but I'll be at the hospital soon, right now lets just make sure River is ok"
"Alright, see you soon"
I hung up the phone and quickly rushed over to the hospital, trying to ignore the heartbreak I felt from him leaving without even saying goodbye.
