Inpu's POV
With Bryan losing his job and me being forced to obey my father, I was not having a good time.
I was constantly being threatened, and to top it off, every time I questioned an order, I was told to shut up before my boyfriend and kid were killed.
Did I want to tell my father I was engaged? Yes, but there was no way in hell I would let him know if he was constantly threatening the person I planned to get married too.
Luckily for me, I was getting ready to leave for the day, but of course, Xylo and my father were arguing again.
While I couldn't fight, Xylo could cause he had nothing to lose because he kept personal matters as far from work as possible, something I wished I had done.
I just tried to push past them, but my father pulled me back, yelling that I couldn't just walk away when one of my men was yelling at him.
Naturally, a larger fight broke out, nothing physical, but enough for me to be dragged into another room.
"Alright, you clearly having something on your mind, so speak, boy"
"Why should I tell you a damn thing? You keep threatening my fiancée and daughter, so you have no right to tell me to speak my mind"
"Fiancée? So you gave yourself more weakness? Pathetic"
"Oh yeah, then what is mom?"
"Your mother is a traitor to all the people who held trust in her, she is more honorable then you will ever be"
"And yet she's the one who called the cops on you"
"SHUT UP AND STOP TALKING BACK!"
"We're having a normal conversation, you should expect a normal comeback"
"Then I suppose I need to step up my threats then"
"What do you mean by that?"
"Oh, right, I haven't told you yet, I sent Xylo out to kill your fiancée, he failed of course, but either way, we're getting closer to our goal, so drop your stupid family"
"You were in your early 20s when you and mom got married, I'm in my early 20s now and I'm not allowed, where is your logic?"
"Difference between us, I was training myself to be a villain at 16, you only had my old journals to go off of, so I had an idea on what I was meant to do by your age, you still have no idea what to do"
"Because I don't want to follow your footsteps! I want to be able to go home end of the night and just enjoy time with my family, I just want money to get by with, you want power, there is a difference"
The second the words left my mouth, I felt a slap across my face.
I turned back towards my father and just stared at him for a second before I grabbed my knife from my bag and began to walk out.
My father tried to pull me back again, but this time I stabbed his arm before I continued walking.
"You walk out of that room and the bomb in your hero lover's base goes off tonight"
"I'm sorry...what?"
"You heard me correct, we found his base, I had a few of my men place a bomb there, so tomorrow morning as soon as he walks into his base, boom"
"You're sick, WHAT DID HE EVER DO TO YOU!?!"
"He prevented you from following my image, that's enough reason to me"
"But I don't want to follow your image! Why can't you accept that!"
"BECAUSE YOU'RE MEANT TO CONTINUE MY PLAN IF AND WHEN I DIE!!!"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP! THAT'S NOT WHAT I WANT TO DO, SO EVEN IF I DID TAKE OVER, IT WOULDN'T LAST!"
I ended up yelling back and forth with my father for a while, just trying to get him to understand my goals weren't the same as him, but nothing was working.
Eventually, my phone started to ring, and upon seeing it was Bryan, I just stormed out, not letting my father get a single word out before I was gone.
The second I got in the car, I connected my phone and immediately went to talking to Bryan about random things we wanted to do for the get together we planned to have after we get married, but I was really just out of it.
Upon getting home, everything seemed normal as usual, but Bryan was no where to be seen.
Crystal was asleep in her play pen, but Bryan not being nearby scared me after what my father told me earlier today.
I pulled my knife out enough where I could easily stab but I could keep it hidden if needed.
After a quick search around the house, I couldn't find him anywhere, but then again, I still had one room to check, the basement.
Realizing he likely was doing more research on my father, I just went down while making it obvious I was coming down not to scare him.
Upon seeing him, I realized he was out cold, so I gently picked him up and brought him over to the bed in our room so he could get some better sleep.
I found it sort of funny, we were talking about plans an hour ago max, and now I find him asleep, still trying to get hero work done, and yet he barely knew what was going to happen.
We knew he'd likely end up working from home once he finished up his hero work for the city or he chose to retire from it, but I wished it wasn't going to be like that.
We both expressed how our safety would effect our future, but no matter what, we both agreed that when I finish, I'll happily go to prison for a bit, Bryan pardon's me for cooperating, then we figure out jobs from there.
Did I ever expect my future to be like this, not at all, I just wished it didn't have to end like this, but I knew the second Bryan's base blew up, my father would plant evidence against me in the event he's alive, so I knew that it was likely tonight would be my last night in the house.
The only thing I could do was ponder what would happen, I prayed that he'd hear me out, but I wasn't that lucky, my best bet would be getting out of town, but I really needed to think it through, I just really didn't have the time...
