I came to visit again with drinks for both him and Seungkwan. I didn't want him to catch on that I had already known of his sweet tooth, so I just bought him an iced-americano instead.

"So Mingyu, I don't recall you telling me what job you really do. Mind telling me?"

He's finally asking me what I do for a living, did he finally realize that it's me?

"Hmm? Oh really? I work at a candy shop." his eyes widened as he tried to hide his obvious interest in my job.

"A candy shop? Are you a part-timer there?" he might as well just get Lasik surgery if it's this bad.

"I own it actually."

"Really ? I never took you for a business man, good for you then but about you visiting here could you---"

"Aren't you gonna ask more about what it's like to work there?"

I was starting to get a bit impatient. Although I did say I would take it slow and let him take his time with his own feelings, I don't think there was any other developments after that time where we decided to call each other casually.

"Ok? How is it to work at a candy shop?"

"I have a regular there that has been getting my attention." he seemed indifferent as usual. Then again what was I expecting. Him to realize that it was me? Or him to feel a bit jealous?

"Hmmm is that so? This person must be very interesting then?"

"Yes, HE is very much so." I just wanted to tell him then that I was talking about him, but I was unsure as to how he would take it.

"A man? Was he that good looking?"

"You could say that."

"So what are you gonna do about this interest of yours? Do you want to be friends with him?"

I wanted to be just friends at first, but this interest of mine grew into something more complicated over time. I don't think you'd be ready to hear it.

"If only it was that easy. Every time he comes to the shop he looks like he doesn't want to be recognized by anyone. Always looking down on the floor and wearing a mask."

"Isn't that a bit suspicious then? Aren't you worried that he might do something?"

My disappointment was just growing bigger and bigger. He clearly has no damn clue. I used to think that people in the medical field would be more alert than this. But then again, I guess he was just different from the beginning. He's a dentist with a sweet tooth for goodness sake. Talk about ironic.

"No, I don't believe he would do anything bad. He's a good guy."

"If you trust him that much, what's stopping you from approaching him then?"

"He seemed like he didn't want to be interrupted."

"All I'm getting from this is that you respect him enough to give him his personal space, but if you're so bothered about it at least try talking to him, we never know what he would do."

You're making it sound so easy. I hope you won't resent me if I do just what you say.

"Then again my opinion doesn't really matter, this all depends on you."

"Actually your opinion does matter. Thank you for the advice."

The next day I finally brought up the courage to approach and talk to him at the shop....

"New things just arrived at the back and haven't been put on shelf yet, do you wanna check?"

You better not run.
