A week has passed since he first came in. He visited 4 times since then, but I was too busy to even pay much attention to him. He'd hang out with Seungkwan if he saw that I was handling a patient, and once the patient left he'd come inside to lounge around usually for an hour. We'd talk nonsense and sometimes just take naps sitting across each other or he'd take the dental chair. I'd wake up first and just let him sleep in more. He somehow seems tired every time he comes here. Why does he even bother to visit when he's this exhausted?

The topics we usually talk about are pretty random. We never get too personal with our conversations either, which is good for me. I'm not usually the type to open up easily to other people. I tend to keep my walls up and let them stay there for as long as I see they are needed.

Sitting there alone with him in silence has been one of my routines nowadays. I don't even know what to call this thing we are doing. Is this how people hang out these days? Is it supposed to be this quiet and calming? Never thought I'd like this type of company.

I somehow got used to having him around. Actually feels like having a big lap dog. Although he may seem slow at times, I could tell that he's trying to be considerate. He never talks too much, although I could tell that he has a million questions that he wants to ask. He doesn't drag out his visits as well and always keeps it at an hour max. The chocolates he gave me were very delicious as well. I recognized the brand immediately as it was from the candy shop across the street. He sure has impeccable taste.

Overall he isn't a bad person I guess. Then again, at the end of the day, we're as good as strangers. There's not that much going on between us. I don't think I would even call this 'friendship'. It feels like one day, this would all stop, and we would both continue living our separate lives like we always did.

He's gonna get sick of visiting sooner or later, I just know it.

"Yes, Seungkwan?" I saw him standing by the door frame holding his clipboard.

"Doc, you have another appointment on Monday. It's for braces. Do you want me to send her instead to Dr. Bruce?"

"No it's fine, I'll handle her."

He must've seen me as a walking corpse all week as the look on his face clearly was plastered with worry. He let out a deep sigh.

"Wonwoo, you should really pay more attention to yourself. Life isn't all about work you know."

His voice sounded distressed. He always drops the title whenever he lectures me. Which I don't mind at all since I see him as this younger brother of mine, and apparently he sees me like an older brother as well.

"Thanks, Seungkwan, but I'm fine really. No need to worry."

I tried giving him my most genuine smile. He wasn't at all convinced by it. He knew me that well.

"Just don't die on me okay?"

He left while still having that look on his face.

He wasn't lying though. After I graduated college, all I did was work. My parents barely saw me. Although they kept saying that I didn't have to worry about them, I can't help but feel so. I don't have many people to call friends. I tend to keep that circle small and tight.

"When was the last time I even dated?" I talked to myself.

"Ahhhh~~~that was a good nap."

Shit...Forgot he was here again.

"Thanks for letting me crash on your dental chair doc."

"It's fine you should g-----"

"So when was it?"

"Hmm? When was what?"

He walked closer to where I was sitting. Leaned closer and placed both his hands on the armrests of my chair. Staring deeply into my eyes.

"The last time you dated."

I'll be damned.
