Was I that loud?

Goodness, I should really stop talking to myself. Then again, whatever I did say earlier doesn't really warrant this type of distance that seems to be interrogating me. His hands seemed to have gripped tighter onto my chair for every passing second. His eyes glued to mine as he waited for my answer. This man clearly doesn't understand the concept of personal space at all.

"Ahhh...well, I guess since college? I don't really know when exactly."

You can say I got slightly intimidated. He was literally hovering above me, looking down on me. I just answered without much thought. I saw that he wasn't moving at all which made me even more tense.

"Could you please let go now?"

He quickly removed his hands and laughed like nothing weird just happened.

"You seriously don't have to go that near just to talk to me. I'm just a bit blind not deaf."

"Sorry, Dr. Jeon."

I diverted my attention to my computer screen and just started smashing on the keyboard. My heart was still racing, so I just pretended to type away on my computer to keep my hands busy and to avoid looking at him.

"Wonwoo?"

He called me with such an unsure and soft voice.

"Hmm?"

"Wonwoo?"

"Yes?" Can he tell that I'm avoiding him right now?

"Wonwoo?"

Okay now this is just getting annoying.

"I told you I'm not deaf, what is it?"

He stood there smiling all by himself. Has he finally gone mad?

"What are you smiling for?"

"Nothing. I found it nice that you responded to me."

What the heck?

"You were calling my name, what did you expect?"

He continued smiling away like the big dog I always saw him.

"You're one weird guy Sir Kim."

"Mingyu."

"Pardon?"

"Just call me Mingyu. You seriously don't need to address me so formally. I assume we're about the same age."

Now that I think about it, he just called me Wonwoo earlier. Only Seungkwan calls me that in the clinic. But for some reason I just answered to him so naturally. Then again it is my name, so I guess it makes sense that I did. Does he want us to just be casual around each other? Was that why he was smiling so much earlier? What a strange reason then.

"I'm actually younger than you."

"Huh? What makes you so sure?"

"Your records."

I found his dumb expression this time funny. He was so taken aback that I was actually younger than him. I understand why he would think we're the same age. I mean aside from our physical appearance, I feel like I'm too serious compared to my age group.

"Hahaha...didn't think about that. I just assumed that we were the same age."

"Do I look that old?"

"No! That wasn't what i was trying to say---wait...so you think I'm old? I bet the gap isn't even that much."

This man never seems to run out of facial expressions. It's kind of fun to tease him like this.

"Yeah 2 years is nothing. Don't worry I didn't think of you as old. You seem too energetic for that word."

I went back to the screen that was now filled with letters and numbers that looked like some cryptic code after I just ruthlessly typed away on the keyboard earlier. He's really making me do all sorts of weird stuff.

"Wonwoo."

"Yeah?" Is he obsessed with my name or something?

"When we're alone, you can just relax and smile as much as you want. No need to be all cool 24/7."

I told myself that I wouldn't trust anyone so easily. He just arrived into my life a week ago, so whatever his intentions are, I can't read them yet. Regardless of what they are though, it shouldn't matter to me. I shouldn't have this one person disrupt the life I worked so hard to build. He seems innocent now, but who knows what he'll do soon.

"So you think I'm cool?" if only I could tell him to step back. His actions are making me waver and doubt myself.

"Don't be too full of yourself there buddy."

"I was just kidding. Thanks for the consoling words Mingyu." I wish we could just go back to having that doctor-patient dynamic we had then.

"You're welcome Wonwoo. I better get going now. See you next time."

I really hope not.
