As Jin giggled at the dancing fireflies, his mother’s voice suddenly called from the kitchen. "Jin! Dinner’s ready! And have you even washed up yet?"
"Coming, Mum!" Jin shouted back, his eyes wide with panic. He scrambled off the bed, quickly tossing his hoodie aside. "I swear I was just—"
In his haste, he tripped over his own feet, nearly tumbling face-first into the floor. "Ugh, really?" he muttered, catching himself just in time. He grabbed a towel and dashed to the bathroom, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
Jungkook, watching from outside the window, blinked in surprise. His eyes widened as he rubbed his face, trying to process the whirlwind of activity. Did he really just...run like that?
He couldn’t help but chuckle softly, his heart fluttering. This human is beautiful everywhere, he thought, feeling an overwhelming admiration wash over him. From the way Jin moved to his playful expressions, everything about him was captivating.
As Jin rushed to wash up, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. "Great, I look like I just rolled out of bed," he grumbled, quickly splashing water on his face. He imagined the fireflies giggling along with him, as if they were teasing his frantic rush.
Jungkook continued to watch, a smile spreading across his face. He felt a warmth in his chest, realizing how much he enjoyed witnessing these little moments of Jin’s life. This is just too good, he thought, amused at how Jin seemed to embody a kind of chaotic charm.
As Jin finally emerged from the bathroom, hair still damp and slightly tousled, he exclaimed, "okay, I’m ready for dinner!" With a playful grin, he added, "Let’s see if Mum’s cooking can compete with magical fireflies!"
Jungkook laughed quietly, feeling a connection deepen. I can’t wait to see what else this beautiful human has in store.
As Jin sat down at the dinner table, his mother wasted no time diving into her usual bantering. "Jin, you really need to get out more. You’re always stuck in your room, talking to yourself or those silly drawings. How do you expect to make friends when you’re so... so introverted?"
Jin groaned, shoveling a mouthful of rice into his mouth, trying to drown out her words. "Mum, I talk plenty when I’m comfortable, okay?" he mumbled through his food, puffing his cheeks like a sulking child.
"Oh, comfortable? With who? The fireflies? You barely know how to hold a conversation with people. And don’t even get me started on your clumsiness! Just the other day, you tripped over your own shoes, and yesterday, you dropped an entire carton of milk!"
Jungkook, watching from outside the window, couldn’t help but smile. Every word Jin’s mother said felt like an introduction, giving him insights into the human’s quirks. So, he’s clumsy too... interesting, Jungkook thought as he hovered near the window, unseen.
"And seriously, Jin, you need to stop talking to yourself all the time! It's weird. What if someone hears you?" his mother continued, gesturing wildly as she spoke.
Jin pouted, slumping in his chair. "I don’t talk to myself that much... just when I’m thinking out loud or when I’m trying to find inspiration."
"Inspiration, huh? You mean when you’re lying on your bed, staring at the ceiling, waiting for some magical idea to fall from the sky? Or when you’re outside, sitting like a weirdo on the grass, mumbling about clouds and trees?"
Jungkook stifled a laugh. Magical ideas falling from the sky? He glanced at the fireflies still flickering in the yard, amused by how Jin's mother unknowingly described exactly what happened earlier.
"Mum, you’re exaggerating," Jin whined, his pout deepening. "I’m perfectly fine being me."
"Well, if you don’t find a way to be less clumsy and more outgoing, I’m going to start setting you up on blind dates!"
