As the school ended, Jin walked quietly down the hallway, head down and hair covering his face. His usual oversized hoodie hung loosely, making him look smaller and more withdrawn. He tried to move unnoticed, but his heart pounded as he felt the stares of others.

A group of boys, leaning against the lockers, noticed him. They smirked, their taunting voices loud enough to draw attention. There he goes again, always hiding, one of them sneered, nudging his friend.

Jin froze, anxiety building in his chest. He didn’t want trouble—he just wanted to get to his class and leave. But as he turned to walk faster, the mocking only grew louder.

"Hey! You, are you ignoring us?" One of the boys called out, stepping forward to block his path. Jin tried to step around them, but before he could, the boy shoved him hard against the lockers. The clang echoed down the hall, and Jin’s books slipped from his hands, scattering across the floor. He winced, feeling a sharp pain in his back.

"You think you're too good for us, huh?" another boy growled. Jin’s hands trembled as he knelt to gather his books, too scared to meet their eyes.

"I—I didn’t mean to," Jin stammered, trying to speak as gently as possible. "H-how can I help you?"

His soft, nervous words only seemed to frustrate the group more. The lead bully glared at him, his face twisting in disgust. "What? Speak up! Are you scared?" He took a step forward, ready to shove Jin again.

Hovering nearby, Jungkook’s eyes darkened with fury. His calm expression vanished, replaced by a cold, intense glare. His fingers itched to intervene, and when he saw the bully raise his hand to push Jin again, he snapped. With a subtle flick of his wrist, he used his powers to trip the boy, sending him stumbling forward.

The bully fell hard, crashing to the floor in front of Jin with a loud thud. The entire hallway erupted into laughter as students watched the scene unfold. Embarrassed, the bully scrambled to his feet, face flushed red with humiliation. His friends quickly backed away, pretending they had nothing to do with the incident.

"Serves you right," someone from the crowd muttered, and the bully, unable to handle the mockery, stormed off without another word. His group followed, leaving Jin standing there, wide-eyed and confused.

Jin blinked, unsure of what had just happened. He carefully picked up his books, feeling both relieved and bewildered. What just happened?

From a short distance, Jungkook floated in the air, arms crossed and a smug smirk playing on his lips. "No one will harm him while I’m here," he muttered, his anger cooling as he watched Jin walk away, unharmed.

You don’t need to fight, human... not when I’m around.

As Jin walked down the road, his thoughts drifted back to the strange encounter at school. He still couldn’t understand how the bullies had suddenly backed off, and how the lead one had tripped so embarrassingly. It felt like something out of a dream. Did I just get lucky? he wondered, shaking his head.

Suddenly, a loud crack of thunder interrupted his thoughts. Jin looked up at the darkening sky. "What the hell is wrong with my luck?" he muttered under his breath. It was just his kind of fortune to have a good day ruined by bad weather. The clouds gathered quickly, and soon rain poured down in sheets, drenching everything around him.

Jin groaned, shivering as the cold rain soaked through his clothes. "I love rain, but... not like this," he mumbled, looking at his soaked bag. His books were definitely going to get ruined, and he had no umbrella. Worse yet, he was still a good distance from home.

Above, Jungkook watched the storm unfold, his eyes narrowing as he saw lightning flash across the sky. The storm was intensifying, and Jungkook could sense the danger lurking in the crackling air. His wings beat softly as he hovered close to Jin. He’s going to get sick if this keeps up.
