The next morning, Jin woke up earlier than usual, a bright smile on his face. His mind was racing with thoughts of his new friend, Jungkook. He wondered if they would bump into each other today, maybe on his way to the park. The thought alone had his heart fluttering in excitement.

As he got ready, he hummed softly, glancing out the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of Jungkook. He didn’t even realize how quickly he had gotten dressed until his mother appeared at the doorway with a smirk.

“Well, well, look who’s up early! I’ve never seen you so eager before. Is it because of that handsome friend of yours?” Mrs. Kim teased, her eyes twinkling mischievously.

“Mom, seriously?” Jin groaned, though he couldn’t stop the shy smile that crept onto his face.

“Oh, don’t even try to deny it! You barely slept last night. I heard you tossing and turning. All you could think about was ‘Jungkook, Jungkook, Jungkook’!” Mrs. Kim mocked, placing a bowl of rice on the table.

“I was not tossing and turning!” Jin exclaimed, though his ears turned a bright shade of pink. He sat down to eat quickly, avoiding his mother’s playful gaze.

“Oh, sure you weren’t. So, tell me again, what’s he like? Is he as good-looking in the daylight as you made him sound?” she continued, laughing softly as Jin’s blush deepened.

“Mom, stop it!” Jin whined, stuffing a spoonful of rice into his mouth. “He’s just... a friend! We only just met, okay?”

“Sure, just a friend. A handsome, polite friend who you’re clearly head over heels for,” Mrs. Kim said, winking at him.

Jin groaned, quickly finishing his breakfast. “You’re impossible,” he muttered before grabbing his bag and standing up. “I’m heading out!”

Mrs. Kim chuckled, watching him hurry toward the door. “Have fun, but don’t forget to bring your ‘just a friend’ home next time!” she called after him.

Jin waved her off, his face still red from all the teasing, but his heart was pounding with excitement. Maybe he would see Jungkook on the way. As he started jogging toward the park, the breeze brushing against his face, he couldn’t help but smile at the thought.

Meanwhile, high above, Jungkook watched from the sky, a soft smile tugging at his lips. His wings glowed faintly as he hovered, his eyes following Jin’s every movement. Jin’s excitement was infectious, and Jungkook could feel his own heart fluttering in response.

He’s so eager to see me... Jungkook thought, his chest swelling with warmth. Watching Jin rush out of his house with that shy, beautiful smile on his face made Jungkook feel lighter than air.

Today’s going to be perfect.

Jin had rushed to the park, his heart full of excitement, but after a few minutes of looking around, he realized his new friend wasn’t there. His excitement quickly faded into a sulking expression as he made his way to class. Entering the classroom, he walked to his usual spot—the last bench by the window, placing his bag on the empty seat next to him. No one ever sat beside Jin, and truthfully, he preferred it that way.

Just as he was about to lay his head down on the desk, Minyung approached him with his usual friendly smile.

“Good morning, Jin! Did you have a good weekend?”

“Yeah...” Jin replied shortly, though his mind was elsewhere. He didn’t want to be rude, but his thoughts kept wandering back to Jungkook. Where was he? Why didn’t they meet today? He had been so excited, and now...

Minyung continued chatting, his words not really registering in Jin’s mind.

The teacher entered making everyone go to their seats. Minyung also bid bye and went to his seat.
