*THUD*
As Jin plummeted toward the ground, a strange sensation enveloped him, as if he were watching the scene unfold from a distance. His soul felt detached, hovering above, observing the torment inflicted upon him.
The sky above him twisted into a kaleidoscope of dark clouds, swirling like a storm brewing within his chest. Just as he was about to hit the ground, Hyo-seop’s hand shot out, catching him effortlessly once more, a cruel smile spreading across his face.
“Did you think I’d let you fall?” Hyo-seop taunted, lifting Jin slightly to meet his gaze. “No, no... This is far too entertaining. I want you to feel the fear, the helplessness. I want you to remember every second of this.”
With a flick of his wrist, Hyo-seop let Jin drop again, the sensation of falling amplifying the dread that coursed through Jin’s veins. He gasped, his heart racing as he felt the ground rush up to meet him. But just before he could make contact, Hyo-seop caught him once more, his grip unyielding.
“See? I’m here to keep you safe,” he said mockingly, his voice laced with a sadistic glee. “Safe from the pain of reality... at least, for now.”
Jin struggled against Hyo-seop’s hold, his heart pounding not just from fear but from the humiliation of being toyed with like a mere puppet. “Let me go!” he shouted, his voice filled with defiance.
“Let you go? Why would I do that?” Hyo-seop mused, tilting his head as if contemplating the idea. “You’re far too precious to me. The way you squirm, the way you fear for your precious Jungkook—it’s all so delightful.”
He let Jin drop again, and again, he caught him just before impact, relishing in the way Jin’s body reacted, the tension that rippled through him. “Tell me, human, how does it feel to be so utterly powerless?”
Each time Hyo-seop caught him, Jin felt his soul tear a little more, the weight of despair growing heavier. “Stop it!” he cried, tears stinging his eyes. “You’re sick!”
Hyo-seop’s laugh echoed around them, a sound that filled Jin with dread. “Sick? Perhaps. But you’re the one who’s going to suffer. You’re the one whose world will shatter.”
With one final toss, Hyo-seop released Jin completely, allowing him to fall without catching him this time. As Jin fell, he felt the ground rushing to greet him, and for a moment, he was enveloped in darkness, wondering if this was the end. But deep within him, a flicker of hope remained—hope that Jungkook would come, that love would triumph over this twisted nightmare.
Just then, Jungkook landed with a loud thud, the force of his arrival sending a gust of wind swirling around him. His wings, once magnificent and bright, were now tattered and ripped, by how he had been flying, But as he looked down and saw Jin falling, his heart stopped. Without a second thought, he ran, ignoring the pain that coursed through his wings and body.
“JIN!” he shouted, his voice echoing through the dark abyss as he dove into the pit after him. He flew downward with desperate speed, the ground rushing up to meet them. All around them, the inhabitants of heaven and hell stood frozen, eyes wide with shock. Jimin and Jhope gasped, their expressions a mix of fear and worry for their friends, while the others maintained their solemn silence, bowing their heads for their lords.
Above them, the lords of heaven and hell—Kwang Dong Wook and Song Hyo-seop—watched the unfolding drama, their expressions inscrutable. Jungkook pushed himself harder, ignoring the sting of ripped feathers that fell like snowflakes around him. He was determined to reach Jin before it was too late.
“JIN! JIN!” he called out, his voice filled with desperation.
“Jungkook... I knew you’d come,” Jin’s voice was weak, but there was a flicker of hope in his eyes. “Don’t come here... you’ll get hurt...”
