In the deepest, darkest corner of the universe, far from the radiant beauty of heaven, lay the realm of eternal night—Hell.
There are always two opposites of one. White and Black. Love and Hate. Light and Dark. Heaven and Hell. The air there was thick with heat, the ground scorched with fireballs that lit up the abyss with a sinister glow. The flames danced around in flickering shades of crimson, illuminating the dark throne upon which the lord of Hell, Song Hyo-seop, sat in all his terrifying glory. His massive black wings, as dark as coal, stretched out behind him, their edges curling in the intense heat. His red eyes gleamed like burning embers, observing the world below with a sense of cold authority.
Below his throne, demons cowered, heads bowed low in fear and submission, their twisted forms barely visible through the rising smoke and flames. None dared to raise their eyes to meet his; his power was absolute, his wrath merciless.
The oppressive silence was broken by one of the demons—Lee Do-yun, a devil with a knowing smirk on his lips, approached cautiously, though his tone was filled with barely contained excitement.
“My lord, we have received news... and it’s a significant one,” Do-yun said, his voice low, yet it carried across the vast hall.
Song Hyo-seop's gaze remained steady, uninterested, his expression unreadable. “What news?” he asked, his voice a deep rumble that sent a shiver through the underworld.
“It concerns Jeon Jungkook... he has violated countless rules of heaven—”
Do-yun began, but before he could finish, flames erupted around him as the lord’s eyes flashed with sudden rage.“What nonsense are you speaking?” Hyo-seop roared, his voice shaking the ground beneath them. “Jeon Jungkook? The one who has always obeyed the heavenly rules? The highest-rated angel? He has never violated a single rule!”
Do-yun didn’t flinch as the fire surrounded him—he was a devil, after all, and pain meant little to him. Instead, he allowed a sly grin to spread across his face. “Oh, but it’s true, my lord. Not only has he violated the rules, but you will be pleased to hear the reason why...”
“Speak clearly,” Hyo-seop growled, his patience wearing thin as he leaned forward in his throne, his wings casting an ominous shadow over the quivering demons below.
“It’s all because of a human, Do-yun finally revealed, his voice dripping with malice. Jeon Jungkook has fallen for a human. He broke the first rule by interacting with this mortal, and today, he committed the gravest sin of all—he burned a human alive for daring to harm the one he loves.”
For a moment, there was silence. The air in Hell seemed to still as the revelation settled into the lord’s mind. Song Hyo-seop’s lips curled into a slow, wicked smile—a rare sight, for nothing pleased him more than the downfall of those from the heavenly realm.
“Jeon Jungkook...” Hyo-seop murmured, his voice dark and pleased. The righteous angel, now corrupted by love for a mere human. “How... delightful.”
He leaned back into his fiery throne, his red eyes glowing even brighter. “The heavens must be in chaos. He has violated their highest law, and soon... they will fall apart.”Do-yun chuckled softly, basking in the lord's satisfaction. “Yes, my lord. He is no longer the angel they once revered. He has tainted himself, and now, he will pay the price.”
Hyo-seop's wings unfurled fully as he rose to his feet, casting a long shadow over the bowing demons. “Let them crumble in their own rules,” he said with a grin of pure malice. “And when they do... we shall be there to claim what is left.”
Hyo-seop’s grin widened as if the flames around him fed on his malice, growing hotter and wilder. His memories, dark and twisted, began to resurface—flashes of his time in Heaven, standing shoulder to shoulder with Jeon Jungkook during their angelic training. No matter how hard Hyo-seop worked, no matter how much he perfected his skills, it was always Jungkook who was favored. The golden boy of the heavens. Praised for his strength, admired for his grace. The resentment had festered in Hyo-seop’s heart, growing into envy, then into burning hatred.
