As Jin stepped inside, his excitement bubbled over. "Mum! I'm back!"

"Oh brat, there you are! What got you so late... oh, who's this?" Mrs. Kim's eyes widened as she took in Jungkook standing beside Jin.

"Mom, it's him," Jin said, a hint of nervousness creeping into his voice.

Mrs. Kim narrowed her gaze, then her eyes widened in recognition. "Omg, Jungkook, right?"

Jin sighed, preparing for what was to come. He watched as his mother turned into a whirlwind of enthusiasm, her hands flying to her mouth. "Omg, you're Jungkook? No wonder my son keeps daydreaming about you! You're so handsome!"

"Ah, Mom, stop it! What are you saying?" Jin protested, his face turning a deep shade of red.

"I'm just saying the truth, Jin! You're an idiot, I know, but when did you become so stupid as to just call this man handsome? He's more than that-he's gorgeous!" Mrs. Kim exclaimed, her excitement palpable.

"Anyways, I'm so happy that Jin brought home a friend! Thank you for being his friend; he doesn't have many actually not a single one. I'm just too excited! Please don't feel uncomfortable," she added, her voice softening as she directed her gaze at Jungkook.

Jungkook chuckled, clearly amused by the unfolding scene. "It's no problem at all, Mrs. Kim. I'm really glad to be here."

Jin buried his face in his hands, wishing he could disappear. "Mom, can we tone it down a bit?"

"Oh, come on! I'm just trying to make a good impression," she replied with a playful grin. "You should be thanking me! This is a monumental moment for you!"

"Mom! Can you please stop talking about me like I'm some hopeless case?" Jin said, half-laughing, half-embarrassed.

Mrs. Kim just laughed, her eyes twinkling with joy. "I'm just happy to see you making a friend! You have no idea how hard it's been for me to watch you be so shy ans awkward all the time."

Jungkook smirked, enjoying Jin's embarrassment. "I think your mom is just excited to have someone like me around," he teased.

"Yah! Don't encourage her!" Jin groaned, but there was a hint of a smile on his lips.

Mrs. Kim waggled her finger at Jin. "Just remember, it's not every day you get to hang out with someone as handsome as Jungkook. You should cherish this opportunity!"

As they all laughed, Jin felt a warmth in his heart. Maybe this awkwardness was a good sign-a sign that he was finally stepping out of his shell. And as for Jungkook, he seemed completely at ease, basking in the light-hearted banter between mother and son.

Later, as they sat down to eat, the aroma of Mrs. Kim's cooking filled the room, making Jungkook's stomach rumble. He took a moment to appreciate the spread-rice, kimchi, stir-fried vegetables, and a delicious-looking stew. It was all so inviting.

Jin, sitting across from Jungkook, wasted no time digging in. "Wow, Mom! This is amazing! You always make the best food!" he exclaimed, his eyes lighting up.

Mrs. Kim beamed with pride. "I'm so glad you like it, Jin! And you too, Jungkook, feel free to eat as much as you want."

Jungkook smiled, taking a small serving. Although he didn't necessarily need to eat, he enjoyed the experience and the flavor of the food. "It really is good," he agreed, savoring the meal.

As they ate, the conversation flowed easily. Mrs. Kim took the opportunity to tease Jin. "You know, Jungkook, my son here has a habit of hoarding all the snacks in the house. I always find him hiding chips under his bed!"
