Satoru Suzuki was covered head-to-toe in symbols since his tenth birthday.
No one knew how to explain it. Many were expected to have one or two soulmates, if any at all.
But the moment Satoru reached the age, the symbols kept popping up. On his arms, his back, some on his chest, and even around his neck. (He had to grow accustomed to wearing turtle necks.)
Patient information wasn't as well kept as they were centuries ago, so at a young age, Satoru Suzuki became very well-known for a few years. His "condition" was all over the news. Since then, Satoru learned how to cover the marks.
His fashion became taken by long sleeved shirts, even in the hotter months. When he did not have a turtle neck to wear, he'd wear scarfs as inconspicuously as possible. He took extra care to keep his identity hush in public, wearing his gas mask even inside.
Days where he had to visit bath houses were the worst. Everyone would stare at his marks, and if he went frequently enough, new people would arrive just to stare...
Sometimes it wasn't the number of them that caused people to look. It was how the marks looked in general. Most people had a certain flower or symbol that represented them as a person. Shape and color all went into what that person was like, but these people, whoever they were, their marks were so strange that Satoru Suzuki sometimes wondered if they were even human.
With such interesting symbols all over his skin, some people even questioned if he was Yakuza. To his face.
Oh God. He desperately hopes his soulmates aren't Yakuza...
In short, his soulmates aren't even human! Every NPC in Nazarick are soulmates with their creators, the Supreme Beings by default. With Momonga as the leader of the Supreme Beings, "it only makes sense" that he'd have ties with all of them.
