THE performance went perfectly

THE performance went perfectly. not only did the special effects crew execute our timings, but the band and dance crew was amazing.

i know how much time it took mina to teach midoriya how to dance and how hard jirou worked with kaminari to get her confidence up to perform in front of all those people.

even bakugou spent a lot of time practicing in his own unconventional way. when he would help me with my homework, he would drum his pencils lightly while he waited for my answers, he did it in class too.

but eiji has been acting strange since before the performance. when i went to ask him if he wanted to play some games after, he rushed off and said that he was meeting up with one of his friends from 1-b.

i shake it off and think about meeting up with him later on.

everything feels so alive. so many people are lined up for the food and game stalls, not just other students but also people from the community.

the sun has fallen down below the horizon, the souls in the sky beginning to whisper their stories louder in my mind. new souls finding refuge within me, a listener to their stories.

somehow, they don't seem to crowd like they normally do. taking over my every thought, but more quiet and patient.

the smile i've worn since the end of the performance hasn't dropped, not even a little bit.

everyone else went off to check out what other classes did. as much as kaminari, sero and mineta begged me to join some of the other girls in the beauty pageant, i decided to go off on my own.

i pass by the haunted house, watching mina shove midoriya and ochako and todoroki with momo in together, a playfully maniacal grin on her face while doing so. ida was right behind them, glasses trembling on his nose.

sato, aoyama, and koda were all roaming around the food stalls trying all of the different sweets. i passed by tokoyami and shoji who were watching a couple of other students on the obstacle course.

but no sign of that ash blonde hair i find myself looking for in every crowd lately.

my heart beats a little faster at that realization.

i walk through the stalls, admiring all of the hard work everyone must have put in. all of the other classes are working together to make everyone here feel appreciated and to just enjoy themselves.

with everything we've gone through, i think that we all needed some fun like this.

"mama when do the fireworks start?"

"in just a couple of minutes sweetheart, why don't we go somewhere we can see them yeah?" a mother asks her daughter, pulling her away from the stalls.

i completely forgot about the fireworks, i've been waiting all night to see them.
