Amren

Amren grew up in a quiet suburban town, where the scent of pine trees mingled with the hum of passing motorcycles. She was a spirited child, always curious and adventurous, with an insatiable love for reading. Books were her escape, transporting her to worlds far removed from her own reality. From a young age, she devoured stories of brave heroines and daring escapades, finding solace in the pages that often felt like home.

Tragically, Amren's life took a dark turn when she was just twelve years old. Her mother, a vibrant woman with a passion for life and a love for motorcycles, passed away in a car accident. This loss shattered Amren's world and left a gaping void in her heart. Her mother had been her rock, the one who introduced her to the thrill of riding and the beauty of the open road. After her mother's death, Amren was plunged into a deep sorrow, struggling to understand why someone so full of life could be taken away so suddenly.

In the aftermath of her mother's passing, Amren's relationship with her father became strained. He was consumed by his own grief, often retreating into silence and neglecting Amren's emotional needs. Feeling abandoned and alone, Amren developed deep-seated "mommy issues." She yearned for the warmth and affection she once received from her mother, often feeling like a ghost in her own home. As a coping mechanism, she buried herself in books, seeking comfort in fictional families that felt more complete than her own.

Growing older, Amren found solace in the world of motors and machines. Her mother had left behind a motorcycle that had become both a reminder of her and a symbol of freedom. Riding became a way for Amren to connect with her mother's spirit and escape the pain of her loss. She spent countless hours tinkering with the bike, learning everything she could about engines and mechanics, finding empowerment in the grease under her nails and the roar of the engine beneath her.

Despite her struggles, Amren's heart remained open. She identified as bisexual but had only dated guys thus far, often finding herself drawn to their protective nature and the comfort of familiarity. However, her experiences with relationships were often clouded by her unresolved feelings about her mother and the fear of intimacy that stemmed from it. The absence of a maternal figure left her unsure about how to navigate emotional connections, making her hesitant to explore deeper relationships with women.

As she entered college, Amren hoped to forge her own identity, separate from the shadow of her past. She took to the English department, drawn to the stories that shaped her life, and enrolled in classes that would allow her to express herself creatively. Through her studies, she began to confront her grief and the complex emotions tied to her mother's death. 

While Amren still battled her inner demons, she was determined to honor her mother's memory by embracing life fully—through her love for reading, her passion for motorcycles, and her exploration of her identity. With every ride, she felt a sense of connection to the past, but she also dreamed of carving out a future that celebrated who she was meant to be—an empowered woman who could rise above her grief and find joy in the journey ahead.
