Elizabeth's POV

I stepped back, savoring the way Amren trembled in front of me, her breath shallow, her eyes wide with a mix of need and frustration. She was mine in this moment, entirely at my mercy. The air between us crackled with tension, the kind that left both of us teetering on the edge of something far more dangerous. But I wasn't going to give her what she wanted—at least, not yet.

The control was intoxicating. Every move I made, every word I spoke, pushed her closer to the brink. I could see it in the way her body tensed, the way her lips parted, as if she couldn't quite catch her breath. She was beautiful like this, vulnerable, waiting for me to make the next move. But I wasn't in a hurry.

I let my eyes trail over her, deliberately slow, taking in every detail—the slight flush on her cheeks, the way her chest rose and fell as she tried to regain control. She wanted me, and she hated how much power I had over her in this moment. That much was obvious. But she wouldn't say it, wouldn't admit it. Not yet.

"Do you understand now, Amren?" I asked, my voice low, a smirk tugging at the corner of my lips. "What it means to be completely out of control? To want something so badly that you can't think of anything else?"

Her eyes met mine, defiant yet filled with longing. She was still trying to hold on to some semblance of power, but I could see it slipping away, bit by bit. I could feel the shift in the air, the way she was teetering on the edge of submission, whether she wanted to admit it or not.

Her lips parted as if to speak, but no words came out. Instead, her eyes locked on mine, and for a moment, it felt like time stood still. The power between us shifted again, but this time, I held it firmly in my grasp. I was playing with her, and she knew it. The thrill of that knowledge was almost overwhelming.

"I imagined your hands on me," I whisper again, repeating what I had said a couple seconds ago, I was leaning in just enough so that my breath grazed her ear, watching as her body tensed in response. "The way your touch would feel, how it would make me lose control. Just like you are right now."

Amren swallowed hard, her hands gripping the edge of the desk behind her, as if it were the only thing keeping her grounded. I could feel the tension radiating off her, the way she was barely holding it together, and it thrilled me to no end.

"But you don't get to have that satisfaction just yet," I said, pulling back just enough to look her in the eye. "Not until I decide."

Her eyes flashed with something—anger, frustration, maybe even desperation—but I didn't give her the chance to respond. I was in control now, and I wasn't going to let her forget that.

I moved my hand up, slowly, tracing the line of her jaw with just the tips of my fingers, watching the way her breath hitched at the contact. "You want to know what else I thought about?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper now, but every word was laced with intent. "I thought about how much I'd like to see you like this... trembling, begging for something you can't have. Not yet."

Her lips parted, but again, no words came out. She was completely at my mercy, and she hated it, but at the same time, I could see the desire in her eyes. The need.

"You're trying so hard to stay in control," I whispered, my hand now trailing down to her throat, just barely grazing the skin, my fingers lingering there as I felt her pulse quicken beneath my touch. "But we both know you've already lost, don't we?"

Amren's breathing grew more ragged, her body tense beneath my hand, but she didn't move. She couldn't. I had her exactly where I wanted her.

I leaned in again, my lips brushing against her ear. "I'm going to leave you wanting," I whispered, letting my words sink in. "Because that's exactly where I want you. Wanting me. Needing me."

I pulled back, just enough to meet her gaze again. Her eyes were dark, filled with something between fury and desire, and it sent a thrill through me. She was so close to breaking, to giving in completely. But not yet.

"Now," I said, my voice sharp but dripping with satisfaction, "sit back down, Amren. We have work to do."

I watched as she hesitated for just a moment, her body still tense, her gaze still locked on mine, as if she was weighing her options. But there were no options here. She knew it as well as I did. Slowly, reluctantly, she moved to sit back down in the chair, her hands still shaking slightly as she settled in.

I smirked, feeling the weight of the power shift back in my favor. This was my game now. And I was going to enjoy every second of it.
