Logan stood at the airport gate, ticket in hand, as he waited to board the flight that would take him to a place he had come to know so well over the years-Kendall's hometown. It wasn't his first visit, of course; he had been there countless times with the band and for personal trips, but today's visit was different. It was secretive, filled with nerves and anticipation, and carried a significance that made his heart race just a little faster.

As he settled into his seat on the plane, Logan's mind raced with thoughts of what he was about to do. He had never been the type to rush into things, but after five months of living together, he knew without a doubt that Kendall was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Their relationship had grown stronger with every passing day, and the idea of proposing had started to take root in his mind weeks ago. But he was a man of principle, and there was one thing he needed to do before taking that next step-he needed to get the blessing of Kendall's parents.

The flight was short, but it felt like an eternity to Logan. When he finally touched down, he grabbed his carry-on and made his way through the small airport, his heart pounding in his chest. He had told Kendall that he was flying out for a quick meeting, a plausible excuse that didn't raise any suspicion. Kendall had simply wished him luck, completely unaware of Logan's true intentions.

Logan rented a car and drove through the familiar streets, taking in the sights of the town that had shaped the man he loved. The closer he got to the Schmidt family home, the more his nerves intensified. But beneath the nerves was a sense of certainty-this was the right thing to do.

When he finally pulled up in front of the house, Logan took a deep breath, steadying himself before getting out of the car. The house looked just as warm and welcoming as he remembered, and that gave him the courage to walk up the path to the front door.

Logan rang the doorbell, his stomach twisting in knots. A few moments later, the door opened, and Kendall's mom stood there, a look of surprise and delight crossing her face.

"Logan! What a surprise!" she exclaimed, pulling him into a warm hug. "What brings you here?"

Logan returned the hug, smiling as he pulled back. "Hi, Mrs. Schmidt. I, uh, I was in the area and thought I'd drop by. Is Mr. Schmidt home too?"

Kendall's mom raised an eyebrow, clearly curious, but she nodded. "Yes, he's just in the backyard. Come on in!"

Logan followed her inside, his heart racing as he prepared for the conversation that was about to unfold. They walked through the cozy house, and Logan couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort in the familiar surroundings. When they reached the backyard, Kendall's dad was sitting on the patio, reading a book. He looked up as they approached, surprise flickering across his face.

"Well, this is a nice surprise," Mr. Schmidt said, standing up to shake Logan's hand. "What brings you out here, Logan?"

Logan took a deep breath, glancing between Kendall's parents. "Actually, there's something I wanted to talk to both of you about. It's...important."

The Schmidts exchanged a quick glance, their curiosity piqued. They gestured for Logan to sit down, and Mrs. Schmidt poured them all a glass of iced tea as they settled into their seats.

Logan took a sip of the tea, gathering his thoughts before speaking. "I know this is a bit out of the blue, but I wanted to come here in person because...well, because I respect both of you so much. And because I wanted to ask for your blessing."

Kendall's mom leaned forward, her expression softening with understanding. "Logan, what are you asking?"

Logan set his glass down, his hands slightly trembling as he looked them both in the eyes. "I'm asking if it would be okay with you if I asked Kendall to marry me."

For a moment, there was silence. Logan's heart pounded in his chest as he watched their reactions, hoping for a positive response. Finally, Kendall's dad broke the silence, a slow smile spreading across his face.

"Logan, we've always seen you as part of the family," Mr. Schmidt said, his voice warm. "You make our son happy, and that's all we've ever wanted for him. So, yes, you absolutely have our blessing."

Logan felt a rush of relief and joy wash over him. He hadn't realized just how much he needed their approval until this moment, and now that he had it, everything felt right.

Mrs. Schmidt reached over and took Logan's hand, squeezing it gently. "We're so happy for you both, Logan. We couldn't ask for a better person for Kendall."

Logan smiled, his eyes misting over with emotion. "Thank you, both of you. This means the world to me."

They spent the next hour talking, reminiscing about the early days of Kendall and Logan's friendship, and sharing stories about how much Kendall had grown over the years. Logan felt a deep sense of connection to these people who had raised the man he loved, and by the time he left, he felt even more sure of his decision.

As Logan drove back to the airport, his mind was already racing with ideas of how to plan the perfect proposal. He wanted it to be special, something that would show Kendall just how much he meant to him. But whatever he decided, he knew that the most important part was the promise they would make to each other-the promise of forever.

And as the plane took off, Logan looked out the window, a small smile playing on his lips. He was ready. Ready to take this next step with Kendall, ready to start the rest of their lives together.
