The band's rehearsal for their performance at the upcoming award show was underway. The energy in the room was focused and professional as they worked on their choreography and rehearsed their setlist. Kendall, however, was struggling to stay focused. His anxiety had been re-triggered by another wave of messages from his friend, filled with screenshots and comments that stoked his fears and insecurities.
Logan, ever supportive, tried to keep Kendall calm and focused. He made efforts to offer encouragement and reassurance. Yet Kendall's nerves were frayed, and he found himself becoming increasingly irritable and critical.
During a break in the rehearsal, Kendall's frustration reached a boiling point. Logan was working through their dance routine, which required precision and synchronization. Kendall, watching from the sidelines, couldn't contain his growing agitation.
"Logan, you're offbeat," Kendall snapped, his voice edged with frustration. "That's not how we practiced it. You need to get it right."
Logan's expression faltered, but he tried to stay composed. "I'm sorry, Kendall. I'm just trying to keep up. I know I'm not perfect, but I'm giving it my best."
Carlos and James exchanged worried glances from where they were observing. James tried to intervene, "Hey, Kendall, maybe we should take a quick break. We're all getting a bit tense."
Kendall's frustration didn't ease. "No, it's not just about taking a break. Logan's not putting in the effort, and it's affecting the whole performance. We need to get this right."
Logan's face reddened, a mix of hurt and exhaustion showing through. He responded softly but firmly, "I'm doing my best, Kendall. But this constant criticism is not helping. I need your support, not your anger."
Kendall's response was sharp. "You think you're the only one under pressure? I'm trying to make this performance perfect. You need to pull your weight."
The argument escalated quickly. Logan, trying to stay calm, attempted to reason with Kendall. "We're supposed to be a team. Yelling at me won't solve anything. I'm here for you, but you're pushing me away."
Despite his best efforts, Kendall's anxiety and anger blinded him. He continued to berate Logan, pushing him further. The tension in the room became palpable, and Carlos and James could only watch helplessly.
Logan's frustration boiled over. Tears welled in his eyes as he turned and stormed out of the rehearsal room, slamming the door behind him. The sound of the door's echo was sharp and final, leaving the remaining band members in stunned silence.
Kendall stood frozen, his anger slowly fading to a mixture of guilt and despair. He wanted to go after Logan, but he felt paralyzed, overwhelmed by his own emotions and the public scrutiny they were facing.
James stepped forward, his tone firm but sympathetic. "Kendall, you need to take a step back. You're pushing Logan too hard, and it's affecting both of you. We need to fix this before it gets worse."
Carlos added quietly, "We're all in this together. If you're feeling overwhelmed, you need to talk to us, not lash out at the people who care about you the most."
Kendall took a deep breath, his mind racing with regret and worry. "I know... I didn't mean to hurt him. I just... I don't know how to handle all of this."
James placed a reassuring hand on Kendall's shoulder. "We'll figure this out, but you need to make it right with Logan. He's been trying to support you through everything."
As Kendall slowly made his way out of the rehearsal room, he found Logan sitting alone in a quiet corner of the venue, his face buried in his hands. Kendall approached hesitantly, his voice trembling.
"Logan, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to lash out at you. I'm just... so overwhelmed by everything. I don't know how to handle it, and I took it out on you."
Logan looked up, his eyes red and filled with pain. "Kendall, I'm here for you, but you need to let me in. I can't help if you keep pushing me away. We need to be a team, not just in front of the cameras but in our personal lives too."
Kendall's heart ached seeing the hurt he had caused. "I know. I'll do better. I just... I need you to be patient with me. I'm trying to work through this."
Logan nodded, though the pain in his eyes remained. "I'll try. But please, Kendall, don't shut me out. We need each other."
The two embraced, the weight of their argument still lingering but softened by a shared commitment to work through their issues together. As they made their way back to the rehearsal space, Kendall and Logan knew that the road ahead would be challenging, but their bond, though tested, remained a source of strength and hope.
