Kendall had never been the type to overthink things-at least, that's what he liked to tell himself. But lately, something had been nagging at the back of his mind. It started small, with little things he noticed about Logan's behavior. The distant looks, the way Logan seemed to be lost in thought more often than not, the subtle changes in his routine.
It wasn't like Logan to be so distracted, and Kendall couldn't help but wonder what was going on. He tried to brush it off at first, telling himself that Logan was probably just busy or tired. But as the days passed, the nagging feeling only grew stronger.
One morning, Kendall was in the kitchen, pouring himself a cup of coffee, when Logan walked in. He greeted Kendall with a quick kiss on the cheek, but his mind seemed to be elsewhere. Logan was usually the one to initiate conversation in the mornings, but today he was unusually quiet, his eyes distant as he sipped his coffee.
"Everything okay?" Kendall asked, trying to keep his tone casual.
Logan blinked, as if snapping out of a trance. "Yeah, just thinking," he replied with a small smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
Kendall nodded, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. "Thinking about what?"
Logan hesitated for a moment, then shrugged. "Just...stuff. You know, the usual."
Kendall tried to let it go, but the vagueness of Logan's answer only made him more uneasy. What was Logan thinking about that he couldn't share with him? They had always been open with each other, so why was Logan being so distant now?
As the days went on, Kendall started to notice more little things. Logan would disappear for an hour or two at a time, claiming he had errands to run. He'd come back home with nothing more than a vague explanation and a distracted smile. Kendall wanted to trust Logan-he did trust Logan-but he couldn't help but wonder if something was wrong.
One evening, Kendall finally decided to confront Logan. They were sitting on the couch, watching TV, but Kendall wasn't paying attention to the show. His mind was racing, filled with questions he didn't want to ask but knew he had to.
"Logan," Kendall began, his voice more serious than he intended, "is there something going on that you're not telling me?"
Logan looked at him, clearly taken aback. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, you've been really distant lately," Kendall said, trying to keep his tone even. "You're always lost in thought, and you've been going out a lot without really saying why. Is something bothering you? Are we...okay?"
Logan's eyes widened in surprise, and then softened as he realized what Kendall was thinking. He set his drink down and turned to face Kendall fully, taking his hands in his. "Kendall, we're more than okay," he said earnestly. "I promise you, there's nothing wrong. I've just been...planning something, and I guess I've been a little distracted because of it."
Kendall's heart skipped a beat. "Planning something? What do you mean?"
Logan hesitated, knowing he had to be careful not to give too much away. He squeezed Kendall's hands, trying to reassure him. "It's nothing bad, I promise. I've just got a lot on my mind, but it's all good stuff. Trust me."
Kendall studied Logan's face, searching for any sign that he was being dishonest. But all he saw was sincerity in Logan's eyes, and it made him feel a little guilty for doubting him. Still, the vague explanation wasn't exactly comforting. "Are you sure? Because if there's something bothering you, I want to know. We can figure it out together."
Logan smiled softly, touched by Kendall's concern. He leaned in and kissed Kendall gently, hoping to ease his worries. "I swear, there's nothing to worry about. I love you, Kendall. I'm just trying to make sure everything is perfect, okay?"
Kendall's heart fluttered at Logan's words, and he felt some of his anxiety melt away. "Okay," he said, his voice a little softer now. "I love you too. I just don't want you to feel like you have to do everything on your own."
Logan kissed him again, more firmly this time. "I'm not. I know you're here for me, and that means everything. Just give me a little time, and I promise it'll all make sense."
Kendall nodded, feeling more reassured but still a little curious about what Logan was up to. "Alright, I'll try not to worry. But if you need anything, you know I'm here."
Logan grinned, grateful for Kendall's understanding. "I know. And I'll make it up to you soon, I promise."
With that, they settled back into their routine, but Kendall couldn't help but wonder what Logan was planning. The mystery was still there, but for now, Kendall was content to let it unfold in its own time. Whatever Logan was up to, Kendall trusted that it was something special-and he couldn't wait to find out what it was.
