Scanning the new boys paper work Into the system I watched as he sat in front of me messing with his fingertips , today I hired another RN being the shop was beginning to get a lot of new business so my hours here got cut down until I can re manage both ..

"Nervous ?" I spoke smiling at him

"It's obvious ?" He spoke looking at me

"Very , I typically do the same thing when I'm nervous .." I shrugged

"Anxiety." We both spoke up at the same time making one another laugh

He was quite yellow in the skin tone and he wore a bottom grill , which I mean we live in Atlanta that's basically apart of everyone's dress code .. I just loved this facility for not making us feel as if we have to dress ourselves down , we were allowed to wear our grills within reason ..

"So while we wait tell me about yourself ," staring at his ID I looked back at him "Bryson."

"Well I'm twenty five I graduated high school early with twenty nine credits , decided to further myself which led me to obtain my RN license." He spoke shrugging "I gotta wife no kids yet."

I felt like our generation moved at the same pace our parents did within reason , of course things were different women were working in their fields some in "men" fields and men were working of course in their fields and in what consider to be "women" fields .. a lot of youngsters were happily married with "soul mates" .. hell a lot of us knew what we wanted out the gate and made it happen .

"I ain't mad at you king." I spoke smiling "Okay so this is to get you into the building , all you do is scan the back of it ." I spoke handing him the lanyard "this is the key to this office only me and you have it ." I placed the key into the envelope that held is new hire information "Everything else sits in this envelope , pretty simple and laid back for the most part we are more than glad to have you on the team tho Bryson we hope you enjoy." I spoke smiling "Don't stress or feel alone when you first start , if you need any help just call"

Returning the smile he got up as I did the same and walked toward the office door , opening it and making contact with a brown skin girl who sat waiting for him he smiled and held the envelope up at her .. watching them interact in pure awe I decided to stop creeping and tend back to the office .

Gathering my belongings I walked out the door locking it and checking the handle .. I left out the facility and got into my car all I wanted at this point was my bed I was worn out , it's been two days since game night and something weighed heavy on my soul I just couldn't pin point what it was and that alone had me in a frenzy ..

"How she doin today?" I spoke over the phone

"She's good Aug , a little depressed lately but good missin you I know my teedy 'nd she's missin you." My cousin Erica spoke back

Letting the line run silent for a little i didn't feel the need to reply since it was always the same whenever i got an update on her .

"Ight E you be good ima wire some mo money dat way."

Hanging up I sat the phone down on the desk pulling from the blunt I had sitting in the ashtray .. I threw my head back tryna figure out what I was supposed to do which route to take next .. hearing the door open then clothes I looked up to see Chris laying on the couch that sat off to the side .

"You know I don't typically get in between you and mama , but I think you should go down there to see her .. I wasn't ease dropping or nothing but I heard what Ryan told you."

"Bitch you both was probably ease dropping." I spoke laughing at him and Nia being just alike

"Okay maybe we was , maybe you should mind your business." He spoke sitting up "But she wasn't wrong , and if she's willing to go with you in moral support that's a good ass "friend"." He spoke putting emphasis on the word friend
