"So did he ask you about it ? Chris asked me last night." Nia spoke eating food off my place

Looking up at her I dropped my fork and slid the plate toward her , doing a little dance in the seat she picked the fork up to finish the food .

"Yes he asked me." I spoke rolling my eyes "I'll more than likely go, are you going to?" I asked looking at her

This weekend was his their moms birthday and aigust wanted me to go down there with him for it .. which I didn't mind really , being the relationship between them is every bit of awful a work in progress nonetheless .

"I'm leaning toward yes." She spoke finishing up her plate "might as well with the shop being closed ain't got nothing else to do." She shrugged

The shop was only gonna be closed for this week for construction nothing major .. I just decided to add on another booth for Ace since the market for him work wise is low , I figured adding on this booth he could make more money and have sense of peace doing it .. because they run my friend into the ground at that court house .

"So that's why you dragged me here." I spoke looking around the mall

"Yes I needed these couple of outfits , plus all you been focused on is work and sleep." She spoke laughing "Chris is excited to go visit , how bout August ?"

Honestly he didn't really say much pertaining the trip like he didn't care to go .. he talked about it after he did what he did last night but overall it wasn't a big ideal for him .. which gives me a eerie feeling as if I'm missing something .

"Aug is Aug." I spoke shrugging

Which was true he didn't get excited about much but this was different

"Understandable ." She spoke standing up up

Standing up along side her i grabbed my drink and purse making my way up behind her , turning back toward me she smiled as we walked out the mall and to the car .

"Yes Chris , okay just keep me updated please ." Nia spoke

Looking over at her I watched her hang the phone up before rolling her eyes .

"Everything okay?"

"Yeah everything's good." She nodded with a small smile

It felt like everyone was being weird these days .

Looking at her a little longer I averted my attention back to the street .. turning up toward our house I pulled in front of the house , cutting the car off we both got out and made our way to the door .. walking inside and toward the kitchen we both seen Ace balled up on the couch , wiping his face he quickly looked up and met our eyes ..

"Oh hey sistas , where y'all been?" He spoke smiling

"No hey nothing what's going on Ace?" I asked sitting next to him

"You know you can talk to us boo." Nia smiled sitting on the floor in front of the couch

As if on cue the tears started again .. I knew that feeling all to well especially when you know you aren't okay , and someone asks only for you to no be able to hold it in any longer .. a feeling I knew all to well a feeling I was used to a feeling I didn't like .

"He's just he's so damn stupid , I hate that I even cared about him." He spoke pounding his fist against his opened palm "He got his folks up there tryna big boy my shit i have nobody." He spoke wiping his face

"Grab your shoes and let's go." I spoke standing up

Walking toward my room I opened my closet and stood on the stepping stool .. grabbing the box and stepping down I grabbed the gun and placed it on my hip , walking back out to see them both waiting by the door I walked passed them and out the door , I got into the car and started it up before they got in as well .
