The following days at the office were filled with an odd mixture of tension and unspoken words. Ever since that heated encounter where Taehyung had cornered Jungkook against the wall, things had felt different-at least for Jungkook. He was certain something had changed between them, though Taehyung continued to wear his icy mask as if nothing had happened.

But Jungkook noticed the subtle differences.

There were moments when he could feel Taehyung's eyes on him from across the room, the way they lingered just a little too long, or the way Taehyung's lips twitched when Jungkook said something especially silly or cute. It wasn't much, but it was something.

---

One morning, as Jungkook entered the office, juggling a cup of coffee, his bag, and a stack of files, he felt the weight of Taehyung's gaze. He tripped on the carpet, barely catching himself before spilling his coffee all over his clothes.

"Careful," came Taehyung's cold voice from behind his desk.

Jungkook glanced up, flashing a sheepish grin. "Oops, almost lost everything there."

Taehyung didn't respond verbally, but Jungkook caught the way Taehyung's lips pressed together like he was trying not to smile. Jungkook's eyes sparkled mischievously at the small victory. He wasn't sure what it was about Taehyung, but even the smallest crack in his icy persona felt like a win. He lived for these tiny moments where Taehyung's cold façade slipped.

Setting his things down on his desk, Jungkook flopped into his chair and stretched with an exaggerated yawn. "Long day ahead, huh? You got any fun plans for the weekend, Mr. Kim?"

"Work," Taehyung replied curtly, barely glancing up from his laptop.

Jungkook pouted, twirling a pen between his fingers. "You're always working. Don't you ever take a break? You should really learn to relax, you know."

Taehyung's eyes flicked up, narrowing slightly at Jungkook's playful tone. "You should focus more on your tasks and less on giving me life advice."

Jungkook stuck his tongue out in response, though Taehyung didn't see. He settled back into his chair, mumbling to himself. "Someone's in a mood today."

Despite Taehyung's harsh tone, Jungkook didn't miss the way Taehyung's gaze lingered on him just a fraction longer than necessary before turning back to his computer. There it was again-another crack in that cold, indifferent exterior.

---

Later that afternoon, as Jungkook was finishing up a report, his phone buzzed on his desk. It was a message from Jimin.

Jimin: "Let's grab dinner tonight! I've got so much gossip to tell you."

Jungkook smiled at the message. He typed back a quick response.

Jungkook: "Sounds great! Meet at the usual spot?"

As he hit send, he glanced up and noticed Taehyung staring at him. The intensity in Taehyung's eyes made Jungkook's heart skip a beat. There was that look again-the same look he'd seen before, the one that made him feel like Taehyung was seeing right through him.

"Going out?" Taehyung asked, his voice colder than usual.

"Yeah, I'm meeting up with Jimin for dinner," Jungkook said, not thinking much of it. But as soon as the words left his mouth, he noticed the way Taehyung's jaw tightened.
