Ashswag's POV.
It was Wednesday, 7:20am, to be exact.
For once in Ash's life he had gotten to work early that day, and therefore had permission to leave early too (much to Squiddo's complaints.)
As Ash pushed upon the door, allowing the almost comforting presence of the doorbell ring in his eardrums before stepping out onto the street.
Instantly, the freezing air gnawed at his features, sending a shiver down Ash's spine.
While he did not have a 'warm body temperature', per say, Ash didn't enjoy it when it was this cold.
Cursing himself for not taking a jacket, Ash swiftly walked down the street, frost blanketing every surface. Crossing the street, he made a sharp turn right, before his path crossed with a sneaky piece of ice.
Clumsily slipping forwards, Ash sub-consciously closed his eyes, bracing for a painful impact.
Except it never came.
Instead, warm, strong arms grabbed him, and steadied him.
Cautiously, Ash opened his eyes, part of him wanting to get out of this situation, the other curious about what person around here would go out of their way to help him from falling flat on his face.
If Ash wasn't in public, he may have screamed like Squiddo.
Upon opening his eyes, Ash saw Reddoons of all people.
"G-Get o-" Ash snapped, shoving Red away from him.
"Jesus man, you need to chill," Red muttered, "I was just trying to help..."
"I- I don't need your help!" Ash retorted, embarrassment flushing his face.
Red shrugged, clearly a little irritated, and turned to leave, taking a few paces forwards.
"Wait-" the words slipped out of Ash's mouth.
"What, Ash." Red sighed.
"Nothing,"
Ash made a quick run for it after that, wanting to get as far away from the situation as humanly possible.
As soon as his front door had closed, Ash allowed his body to slide down the door, before slumping on the floor, allowing the house's warmth to consume his fragile frame.
He felt so... weird. Why did he act like that around Red? It was so stupid, it was so dumb. It made him feel weak and pathetic - not independent and tough.
Ash hated it, and every part of this feeling.
The thought that he was almost thankful and comfortable in that position before he realised what was going on made him feel sick to his stomach.
Ash hated it, and every part of this feeling.
But he also kind of liked it.
He felt safe in the warmth of Red's touch, but in a very different way from Squiddo's hugs-
