"Chrollo? who is Chrollo?" your mom asks obviously confused.

"that sure is a strange name.." your dad chimes in and you panik for a moment.

"Chrollo he..he is a friend" you end up saying, opting for a half-truth but curing yourself for sounding so uncertain of calling him a friend.

"well your 'friend' Chrollo sounds smart, he's certainly right" your mom states but the way she pronounces the 'friend' makes you think she probably doesn't believe you.

"yeah, he is.." you say carefully and a bit of silence falls before your mom speaks again.

"is he good looking?" the question comes so suddenly that heat rushes to your face and you're sure you're blushing.

"mom!" you squeak and she laughs.

"is he or is he not? you have to send me a picture of him!" she continues and you can only shake your head.

you don't even know if you can take pictures of him or not.

"I'm not going to answer that." you state embarrassed, massaging your temples with your thumb and index finger.

"so he is" your dad now chimes in.

"please, can we change the subject?" you ask and you sound more desperate than intended.

your mom laughs a little harder.

"there's no need to be embarrassed, it's normal for people your age to fall in love" she states casually after calming down.

"no, mom, I am not in- ugh" you say and hunch over in your seat embarrassed and defeated.

the sound of the door cracking open makes you straighten up immediately and when you look back behind your shoulder, you see Chrollo creeping in.

he walks in quietly and sits down on your bed, a smile on his face as he keeps his eyes on you.

you look at him confused, your eyebrows furrowed.

he doesn't say anything and you're still on the call with your parents so you can't really question him.

you're more than glad you didn't put your phone on speaker because your parents are still rambling about how it's okay if you're in love or in a relationship and that they'd just want to meet the 'lucky guy'.

you really don't need Chrollo to hear all this.

"work is going great, yes. when are you guys coming to visit again?" you interrupt them, turning away from Chrollo to sit in the chair comfortably again and hoping that your attempts at changing the subject works.

it does.

"ohh, I don't know (y/n)...your father and I are so caught up in work right now that we probably won't be able to visit until the start of november.." your mom says and she sound so sad that your heart clenches.

"it's okay, don't worry about it" you say and smile to keep your mood up which doesn't work all that great.

the last time you saw them is weeks ago, a week after moving in and right now you realize how actually terrible you miss them.

you think about if you can squeeze them in for a quick visit, it doesn't have to be long, but you also don't have the time to drive all the way over to them for an hour or two.

so for the time being, calling and texting gotta do.

your mom begins to fill you in about everything that's happened since last time, how the rest of your relevants are doing.

while she talks, you can still feel Chrollo staring at you.

you're getting really uncomfortable by it.

not only that he keeps staring at you with a hint of a smile, though it is the creepier aspect, but he really doesn't have to listen in on the phone call you have with your parents.

after a few more minutes he's driven you so uncomfortable that you just stand up and leave your own bedroom.

his eyes follow you curiously as you walk to the door.

you're only finally free from his gaze when you close your bedroom door shut behind you.

you walk around the upper floor for a while before you decide to go downstairs into the conservatory and take a seat.

at some point you and your parents switch to work gossip where you tell them a little more about Hisoka and his strange behavior.

"that man is really weird..." your mom agrees and you nod even though you know she can't see it.

"at least you only have to work with him. don't let him get to your head, just do your thing and let him be." your dad says and you know he's right.

you just don't think he really understands how much Hisoka annoys you most of the time and how irritating he actually is.

"yeah, you're right.." you end up saying and let your eyes wander out of one of the giant windows that frame the conservatory and act as it's walls.

the sun is setting behind the many trees but despite the dimness you notice something.

there's something strange at the outline of where the trees start, you only notice it because the empty space that's indicating your garden is fading in it's greenery.

it looks like someone dug a hole and buried something in there.

earth has obviously been dug up and is laying in a  small brown hill at the edge of your garden, to the far left.

you furrow your eyebrows in confusion and curiosity, standing up from your seat at the bench and walking towards one of the ceiling to floor long windows.

you scrunch your eyes together in hopes of seeing something else than the dug up earth but you can't spot anything.

that's strange.

you haven't noticed anything like that here before.

a mole?

no, there would be several earth hills then.

what is it then?

you shake your head, shaking the thought away with it.

you concentrate back on the call with your parents.

when the sun is gone behind the trees, your parents tell you they gotta go to sleep and you agree.

it's already quiet late and you still have to eat dinner and get ready for bed.

the small hill in your backyard still bothers you though so you decide to ask Chrollo for his opinion.

you want a confirmation that you're not insane.
