a/n: I've used up all 'valid' quotes of Chrollo I had so from now on I will quote from the book 'no longer human' by osamu dazai since I believe that it's a lecture Chrollo would actually like. I don't know who of you know the book but it's a good one though it is rather depressing. I've decided for this book for the following quotes at the beginning of acts as well because the quotes at the start of acts are rather personal to Chrollo and describe him well (in older or newer chapters :p)
"They can harm themselves on cotton wool." - Yozo, p.81
You had woken up way past midnight or at least at some point where ypur body was stuck in a deep slumber.
There was no clock in sight or anything at all to tell you the time in your field of sight.
You wanted to move your head, look around, get a glass of water because your throat felt sore.
But you couldn't move.
That was the first indicator that something was wrong.
You figured that maybe you were just still to tired and your body too weak to move instantly so you waited for a moment before trying again.
That didn't change anything though.
Sweat formed on your forehead.
What was happening? Why didn't your body listen to you?
You wanted to open your mouth, call for Chrollo even if it would make you feel bad.
You've had to rely on his assistance so much the past two days that it made you feel you more miserable than the cold ever could.
But not even your mouth opened, only your eyes did and were able to move.
You stared at the ceiling, forcing your head to try and work it's best.
Should you just try to go to sleep again? Should you try to keep moving and call out for help?
A fresh gust of wind weeped in through the window, dacing around your fave comfortably.
You decided to just close your eyes and try to go back to sleep.
You were so certain it would work that you were quiet literally disappointed that your body refused to rest.
But your throat was still sore and with a feeling like this it was almost impossible to fall back asleep.
Nevertheless you kept your eyes closed, your breathing steady.
The second indicator that something was wrong was the hair at the back of your neck standing up suddenly, bone chilling goosebumps spreading from your neck down the length of your arms.
You knew that feeling all to well.
You had gotten familiar with it the past, almost, three weeks you lived in this house.
You were being watched.
Your eyes shot open before scanning the room, no one was there.
Another gust of wind shot your direction and finally you let your gaze wander quickly to the window.
If you could've screamed, you would have.
You recognized the pink as you had seen it twice already.
A soft featured half of a face was staring at you, the other half hidden behind the wall.
Someone was standing outside your house.
Someone was standing outside the open window of the ground-floored room you were staying in and they watched you sleep.
Maybe it was the dark that made the pink haired person not realize that you were staring at them just like they were staring at you.
Maybe it was because, with their body, they blocked the moon light that illuminated the rest of the room but your face.
The person wasn't tall, reaching with their opper body barely over the window frame to look at you.
Their bright pink hair was tied in a ponytail, strand like bangs covering their forehead.
The soft facial features indicated that this person was female.
You kept looking at her.
You even kept looking at her when your vision started to get blurry with tears.
You kept looking at her when your eyes burned, begging for you to close them to release the tears and not dry out.
But you were too scared to close your eyes.
You were scared with her standing there but you would be scared as well if she was gone once you opened your eyes.
She didn't seem to blink either but she didn't seem to struggle with it.
'This is a dream, it's a dream. It's not real' you told yourself over and over again in your head.
You would've loved to be able to put this off as a fever dream but the flashy pink of the womans hair was too familiar.
It didn't take you long to recognise it.
You had seen it a few days ago already and you even saw it just yesterday.
It was the bright pink you were so suspicious of, the same bright pink that made you wonder if there was a bird species around your area of the same color.
'Your brain is playing tricks on you' you kept telling yourself, wishing to convince your sick brain of that as well.
You had read one thing or another about sleeping paralysis in the past, you had just stumbled across it on the internet.
Sleep paralysis apparently only made up those figures because the muscles didn't quiet realize yet that they were supposed to wake up from their paralysed state and the brain wasn't too aware it should be aware either.
It was stuck in a state that was supposed to only occure when you were dreaming so the lady outside your window must be imagination.
You tried to move your fingers on the side of your body that was impossible to see from the window, your fingers still didn't move.
Neither part of your body did, only your eyes were aching for you to finally blink.
You realized that you could only keep them open for another moment or two before you just had to give in.
Another wave of anxiety and fright washed over you before you closed your eyes, sqeezed them shut and refused to open them for a moment.
You had to blink a few times to moisturise your eyes completely.
The sight of the woman flashed in between the seconds you had your eyes open.
