''First love feels like a spark, but sometimes it only flickers.''

It's strange, starting fresh at a new school. I thought transferring in 2nd grade would be the hardest part, but here I am, three weeks in, still feeling like the "new girl." Everyone already knows each other. I guess I'm used to this by now. I made some friends, like Daniel, who's popular and funny. He introduced me to Lily and Sophia, who are pretty cool. But there's this one boy... Ethan. I'm not sure what it is about him—he's quiet, keeps to himself—but I've noticed him. A lot.
He's three years older, so we don't have any classes together, but I always see him in the halls or at lunch with Daniel. It's like I've stumbled upon this person I shouldn't even notice, yet I can't stop thinking about him. He's... different. Kind of mysterious.
I caught myself staring today. Twice. Okay, maybe more than that. I don't think he even knows I exist. He was laughing with his friends—well, laughing for him is more like a half-smile, but still. It's kind of nice to just watch him from afar. Maybe I'm being silly. I haven't even talked to him yet.
