''Sometimes, friends are our greatest support, and sometimes they are our greatest distractions.''

Daniel's hilarious, as always. He makes everything less awkward here. Today we talked about this new K-pop group, and he actually knows some of the songs! Finally, someone who gets it. I swear, K-pop is my life at this point. Between school and daydreaming about Ethan, it's my only escape.Lily and Sophia are great, too. We have this weird balance in our group—Lily's the quiet one, Daniel's the loud one, Sophia's somewhere in between, and I guess I'm the "new girl." They keep me grounded, and they have no idea about my crush. Thank God.
And then there's her—my former best friend. She's still around, in the same class, still hovering like she belongs in my world. I haven't told anyone why we drifted apart, but I see her for who she really is now. She's fake. I keep things civil when she's around, but I can't forget the way she treated me last year. She only cares about herself. But I act like everything's fine. I don't want Lily or Sophia to worry about it, and I certainly don't want drama. So, I smile, laugh, and pretend it's all good.
I wish pretending was easier when it came to Ethan.
