[Luna's POV]
The soft morning light bathed the room in a golden glow as I stirred awake, my heart already racing with excitement. Today wasn't just any day; it was Trent and Lydia's wedding day. My brother and my best friend, finally tying the knot after all these years. It felt surreal, especially since it wasn't that long ago when Darius had surprised me by getting married during my coronation as Luna.
As I stretched beneath the soft sheets, Darius's strong arm tightened around me, his warmth grounding me. Even asleep, his instincts were to hold me close, and I couldn't help but smile. My husband. The Alpha. Sometimes, it still felt like a dream.
I gently shifted in his arms, trying not to wake him, but Darius stirred, his golden eyes flickering open. A slow, lazy smile spread across his face as he gazed at me.
"Morning, ma cherie," he murmured, his deep voice still thick with sleep.
"Good morning," I replied, unable to resist the urge to lean in and press a kiss to his lips. "It's wedding day."
Darius groaned softly, pulling me back into his embrace. "We could stay here," he suggested, his lips trailing down my neck, his touch igniting a familiar warmth in me.
"We could, but I don't think Trent or Lydia would appreciate it," I teased, pushing playfully against his chest.
With a reluctant sigh, Darius released me, propping himself up on one elbow. "Fine. But I'm not going anywhere without you."
"Deal," I replied, standing up and heading toward the window. The view outside was breathtaking; the grounds were alive with vibrant flowers and the laughter of pack members preparing for the celebration. I could see the decorated archway where Trent and Lydia would say their vows, surrounded by the beautiful blooms that symbolized new beginnings.
Once I was dressed in a simple yet elegant dress—a flowing purple garment that fell just above my knees—I turned to find Darius still watching me. His gaze was filled with admiration, and I felt a warm blush creep over my cheeks.
"What?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
"You look beautiful," he replied simply, his voice low and sincere.
"Thank you," I said, a smile blooming on my face. "You clean up well yourself, Mr. Black."
Darius chuckled, swinging his legs over the side of the bed. He stood up, revealing a perfectly fitted suit that emphasized his broad shoulders and muscular frame. "Ready to go make some wedding magic happen?" he asked, winking at me.
"Absolutely," I replied, taking his hand as we walked out of our room and into the hustle and bustle of the castle.
The atmosphere was electric with excitement. Members of the pack rushed around, some setting up decorations while others were busy in the kitchens preparing the feast for later. The scent of flowers mixed with freshly baked goods wafted through the air, creating a delightful ambiance that promised a day of joy.
As we descended the stairs, I spotted Trent in the grand hall, looking dapper in his suit as he spoke to a few of the other pack members. He caught sight of me and Darius, and his face lit up with a broad smile.
"Luna! Darius!" he called, striding toward us. "Can you believe it? Today's the day!"
I laughed, feeling the giddy excitement radiating from him. "I can hardly wait! How are you feeling?"
"Like I'm going to pass out from nerves," he admitted, running a hand through his hair. "But I'm ready to marry Lydia."
Darius clapped him on the shoulder, a confident grin on his face. "You'll do great, Trent. She's going to love it."
