[Darius POV]
The days dragged on like an eternity. Every hour felt like a lifetime, and every minute ticked by with the weight of uncertainty pressing down on me. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't eat. Every second that passed was another second Luna was out there, suffering, alone.
I spent most of my time outside, pacing under the open sky, trying to keep my wolf in check. The need to run, to search, to tear through the world until I found her was overwhelming. But I couldn't do anything until Dahlia's spell was ready. It was like torture, being forced to wait while the woman I loved was in danger. Each rustle of leaves or distant howl felt like a cruel reminder of my inability to protect her.
Every night, I would return to the pack house, hoping for news, but there was nothing. Dahlia spent most of her time in her room, preparing the final touches of the spell. I could feel the weight of the situation bearing down on her, her energy waning as she fought against time. Trent and the others were restless too, their anxious energy echoing my own. We were all stuck in this unbearable limbo, longing for action but forced into patience.
Finally, after seven long, excruciating days, Dahlia called for us.
The room was dimly lit, the only light coming from the flickering candles surrounding the chalk circle on the floor. The symbols drawn on the ground seemed to pulse with energy, glowing faintly as Dahlia stood at the center, holding Luna's shirt in her hands. Her eyes were tired, the weight of the past week clear in the lines of her face, but there was a spark of hope in her gaze.
"It's ready," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.
I stepped forward, my heart pounding in my chest. "And it will lead us to her?"
Dahlia nodded, though her face was tight with worry. "It will show us the way. But we must move quickly. The spell won't last long."
I didn't need to be told twice. My wolf surged forward, instincts taking over as urgency flooded my veins. I turned to the others, my eyes blazing with determination. "We leave now."
Trent, along with the rest of the pack, nodded in agreement. There was no room for hesitation, no time for second-guessing. Luna was out there, and we were going to bring her home.
Dahlia stepped forward, holding out the bloodied shirt. "This will guide you. Keep it close."
I took it from her, my hands trembling as I gripped the fabric. Luna's scent still lingered faintly, a haunting reminder of everything we were fighting for. It filled me with a bittersweet resolve; I could almost hear her laughter in the distance, urging me to press on.
"We'll find her," I said, my voice rough with emotion. "No matter what it takes."
And with that, we were off, the pack moving as one, our hearts and minds focused on one goal: finding Luna and bringing her back. The world around us blurred as we ran, the wind whipping past, carrying our shared determination.
As we sprinted through the trees, I felt the connection between my wolf and me strengthen, fueling my pace. Every heartbeat echoed the desperation within me, every leap over fallen branches resonating with the hope that guided us.
The path led us deep into the forest, where the shadows grew thicker, the air heavier. The scent of magic filled my nostrils, mingling with the earthy aroma of damp leaves. I glanced back at Trent and the others, their faces set in grim determination, each of us driven by the same fierce need to save Luna.
Then, as if the world shifted, a shimmer of light caught my attention, radiating from the path ahead. I felt a pull, a deep instinct urging me forward. The spell was guiding us, weaving a thread of destiny that linked me to Luna.
