Joker dangled his legs over the rooftop of Gotham City Hall. He tapped his finger as he tilted his head towards the dark night sky, silently wondering where his Batsy was.
He guessed Batman really wouldn't be coming, even after all the chaos he had tried to cause that day.

Batman was ignoring him.

Joker closed his eyes.

Maybe he should just jump.

There was no point in life, without Batman. No point in all the chaos. Sometimes Joker couldn't even tell if he was alive or dead- all the pain inside him had gone numb, it had disappeared.

His inner voice laughed.

He took a nearly empty bottle of anti-depressants from his coat and took six out, popping them in his mouth.

He sat there another minute.

He leaned forward, closer to the edge. Joker closed his eyes, and spread his arms out wide.

Something dropped behind him.

Joker felt himself getting yanked completely off his seat, back onto the rooftop's cold pavement.

He opened his eyes and laughed.
"What are you doing here, Batman?"

Batman was on his hands and knees, pinning Joker to the pavement.

"What do you think you're doing?" Batman literally growled.
"Ha!" Joker laughed. "Furry."

Batman narrowed his gaze. "Shut up Joker. What are you doing up here?"
"Are you going to kiss me or something? You're leaning on me like you wanna.. you know.." Joker suppressed a giggle as Batman punched his stomach.

"Ow- fuck!" Joker gasped.
"I should've let you jump off that edge, you clown." Batman snarled, standing up. Joker pushed himself on to his elbows. He laughed. What the heck was he supposed to say to that?
"So why didn't you?" Joker smiled. The voice inside his head laughed harder.

"Because you're too valuable to me to die." Batman said. "Do you need a place to stay for the night? I know what you're trying to do."
"And what is that?" Joker's face grew hot. He had never told anyone that he'd had suicidal thoughts.

The anti-depressants began to kick in.

"Did Harley Quinn kick you out or something?" Batman questioned.
"She wanted time with Ivy." Joker mumbled.
"I see. You can stay at the Batcave tonight." Batman said.

He began to black out, his vision getting more blurry by the second.

"Don't make me change my mind." Batman grumbled. "I know what you're going through. That's the only reason why you're coming with me."

The Joker blacked out completely, the bottle of drugs empty.
