Kiss

The crew of villains arrived at the GCPD after three minutes of completely breaking all driving rules that existed.
They jumped out of the Jokermobile, all except Harley Quinn, and Mr. Freeze loaded up his ice machine-thing as Catwoman snuck inside the department door without any trouble.
Harley watched from the car as the Joker helped Penguin out of the car; his bad leg was stuck.

Eventually they got it out and Harley drove the Jokermobile away, to hide as best she could. Joker laughed as he and the Penguin waited on the doorstep of the GCPD. Mr. Freeze walked straight through the front door, weapon blazing ice all over.

Catwoman pushed past him, carrying the Commissioner in a choke-hold and a knife to the throat.
"Got him." She told the Joker. He laughed hysterically, flicking Gordon in the side of the head.

"I have eyes on the Bat!" Harley Quinn's voice came through everybody's earpiece. "He's on the roof."

The Joker, Penguin and Catwoman ran inside of the GCPD, past all of the frozen cops, and upstairs to the rooftop.

"Wow, that was a breeze!" Laughed Joker. "You'd think somebody would try and fight back."

"I am that somebody."

Batman's deep, gravelly voice said from across the platform.
"Joker." Batman acknowledged. Joker's smile grew. His heart fluttered at the sight of his Batsy, his lungs freezing up.
He'd been trying to not think about him for the past few days, but it had been hard.

"I missed you Batsy!" He exclaimed, stepping in front of Cat, Gordon and Penguin. "But only a little bit, since you, y'know... BETRAYED ME."

"You WILL pay for this!" Rasped Gordon. Catwoman held him tighter.

"You don't understand, Joker." Batman said, placing a hand on his batarangs.

"No, YOU don't understand!" Joker chuckled. He looked back at Penguin. "This guy is off his fucking rocker!"

"Let the Commissioner go." Batman said. "And you will make it out of here with minimal damage."

"Is that a threat?" Joker grinned, rolling up his sleeve.
It went silent.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" The Joker asked, smile fading for a moment as Batman stared at him.
He turned around. Penguin and Catwoman were staring as well. Even Commissioner Gordon's eyes were wide.

Joker's confusion grew as everyone around him said nothing. He looked down at his arm.
It was covered in cuts and burns, the skin blistering, some slashes deep enough to see right inside of his arm.

He smiled, and slid his sleeve back down.

Joker laughed hysterically, doubling over. The Bat stood, horrified at the sight he had just witnessed.

"What's wrong with you guys?" The Joker cackled, standing back straight.
He slid a pocket-knife out of his suit sleeve with a smile, and stabbed it into the palm of his hand, not breaking the grin on his face for an instant.
Then he threw the bloodied knife at Batman, lodging it in his chest armor.

Joker laughed, as Batman flew towards him. He didn't flinch as Batman withdrew his fist, aiming it at his eyes.

"Stop, or the Commissioner dies!" Catwoman called out. Joker still chuckled as Batman's attention shifted to her.

"Now, you let me kill you right here, or Selena kills the Commish." He offered with a painful smile.

Batman said nothing.

"Choose wisely, Batman." Penguin stated, eager to watch the Bat die.

".. I have a proposal." Batman said carefully.
"Really?" Joker smiled. "A plot twist, yay!"

"You let the Commissioner go. I unfreeze everyone below us. In return, you get to..." Batman trailed off.

"I have eyes on the Riddler!" Harley suddenly said in his ear. Joker jumped at the sound of her voice, he heard Penguin startle too, and Catwoman cut Gordon's throat a little.
"Ack!" Gordon choked.

"You get to kiss me."

Joker's mouth dropped. A smile grew on his face. He almost laughed, but he didn't have time to think about that.
The voice in the back of his head went off.
If the Riddler was in the area, they had to get to him.

"You said I get to KISS YOU?" Joker said, completely shocked. "If I even GET that close to you, you'll put me behind bars!"

Batman said nothing for a second.
"I won't."
He eventually said. "But you have to let Gordon go. And then get the fuck out of my sight. All of you."

Joker groaned. Ugh, plot twists! All of this work and planning for nothing.. but he could kiss Batman. Something he had been fantasizing for a long time.

"Deal." Joker said before he could change his mind. "But if you pull something on me, I'll probably cry."
He giggled, a slight blush creeping onto his cheeks.

He heard Cat laugh behind him.
"Hurry up, if Riddler's here, we have to get him." Penguin said.

Joker crossed his arms, acting like a child. He was too shy to just go up and kiss the Bat, then run away.

"Let him go." He grumbled to Catwoman, holding his bloody hand in slight pain. "And give me my fucking knife back." He said to Batman.

The Bat slowly walked up to him as Gordon backed up, wiping the blood off of his neck.

Joker didn't close his eyes.

Batman swooped right in and bent down, giving the Joker a peck on the nose.

The Joker's face flushed bright red, he was sure the hair on the back of his neck stood up as chills went down his body. He was as frozen in place as one of Mr. Freeze's victims were.

Batman slipped the pocketknife back into the Joker's hand.

Catwoman rolled her eyes and jumped off of the roof.
Joker knew the team would be mad at him for bailing on the plan, but he didn't care.

What had just happened to him??

Penguin grabbed Joker's arm and pulled him over to the stairs on the side of the building.

"You little fucker!" Penguin teased him. The smile on Joker's face was so wide it hurt his cheeks.

"Batman just kissed me!" Joker squealed.

Penguin pulled him down the stairs. Life felt completely unreal for Joker- it was like he was in a movie, and he never wanted it to end.

"Snap out of it, Jokes. We have to find The Riddler. Harley said he's here."
Penguin scanned the ground as they got to the bottom of the stairs.

The Joker, still feeling the kiss on his nose, tilted his head to the sky and laughed. He laughed at the goose flying above them, the car accident across the street, the way Penguin waddled when he walked.

He laughed at all of it.

Penguin and him walked for a couple of blocks until they came across another staircase to a rooftop.
The two decided to climb it, because, why not, and when they'd reached the top, a flash of green jumped right off, onto the other side of the street.

"Gotcha."

Smiled the Joker.
