A prison guard showed Joker a rather dingy cell. It had two cots, a toilet and a sink, and open space.

There was a tall, skinny man sitting on a cot inside, with black glasses perched on the edge of his nose. He looked up at them.

"This is your cell mate, number 22743." The guard motioned to the man.
Joker grinned.
22743 did not grin back.
The guard shoved the Joker inside.

Just as the guard was closing the door, the thin man jumped up and shoved a newspaper between the cage door.
It popped back open. Strangely, the guard didn't notice, and he walked away.

The man smiled at the Joker.
"Whoa. How'd you do that without them seeing?" The Joker gaped in excitement.

The tall man winked at him from behind his glasses. "Physics, baby. I've gotten out of here before. You can come with me if you want to."

Joker's grin was bright and evil as a Christmas tree light. "I'm the Joker." He stuck out his hand for the mysterious man to shake.
"What is used by you but is used by others when they see you?" He asked, gently pulling the door open.

"Your name." Joker said. "I've heard it before."

The guy steeped outside of the cell and held it open for the Joker to walk through.

"Bingo!" Laughed the man. "They call me Ed Nygma."
