Joker went to the hospital to visit Oswald for two weeks straight, every chance he got. Each time, Nygma or the Bat, or Harley Quinn went with him. Eventually Batman and Harley stopped going, but Edward was always there with him.

Joker was asleep in one of the chairs when he heard slight whispering in the back of his mind. His eyes opened to find Edward kneeling down next to Oswald's bed, reading him a book.
Awh.
Joker thought, and sat up.

"Morning, sleepyhead. Did you stay here overnight again?" Edward asked as he turned to him. Joker looked down at his purple wrinkled hoodie.
"I guess so. What time is it?"

"Ten, and you're wearing your clown makeup still." Nygma said, and handed Oswald the book.
"What are you reading?" Joker stood up and walked over to Oswald.
Penguin turned the book around to show Joker the cover. He smiled.
"It's called Diary of a Wimpy Kid. It's really funny."

"He thinks it's funny because all of the grammar errors drive me mad." Edward told Joker.
"Did you sleep here overnight too?" Joker asked, reaching up to shake his curls out.

"No, I went home at one in the morning. I just got back here an hour ago." Nygma said. He turned back to Oswald. "Are you hungry? I made you some pancakes, with toast and jelly."

"Really?" Penguin asked, setting Diary of a Wimpy Kid on his chest. "I'm sick of all of this hospital food."
Joker smiled. "It's good you're feeling better."
"It helps not seeing that giant Bat in the corner of the room." Said Oswald. Edward chuckled and grabbed a container of food from a backpack he had brought.

Riddler handed the container to Oswald with a fork. "Tell me if you can't chew something and I'll just..." Ed trailed off.

"What?" Joker cracked up. Oswald giggled.
"I don't know where I was going with that, but, um.. yeah just tell me if you need help getting the food into your mouth." Edward said, slightly flustered.

"Penguins throw up food to feed their young. Maybe that's what you were thinking?" Oswald smiled.
"That's probably correct." Nygma said, blushing.

"That's nice, Ed, thank you." Penguin said, and popped open the container.
"Did the nurses say if he can come home yet?" Joker asked as Penguin began eating a piece of toast.

"He hasn't been able to sit up yet. I assume if he is able to, then he could leave within the next week." Nygma mumbled.
"Hear that, Ozzie? You'll get out of here soon." Joker grinned at his friend.

Oswald smiled at him and threw a pancake, nearly hitting the Joker in the forehead. Joker caught it.
"Whoa, Ed worked hard on the pancakes! Don't throw them at me!" Joker giggled.

Penguin smirked. He glanced down at his container and back up at the other two, obviously contemplating whether or not he should start a food fight.
"Don't do it." Nygma put his hands up. "I am so serious you better not."

Oswald laughed, and Joker heard a slight wheeze in his voice that Joker never heard before. Apparently Edward had heard it as well, because he just looked at the Joker.
"What was that?" Joker asked, snickering.

"What was what?" Asked Oswald, biting into a pancake.
"You made a really weird sound. I don't know. I think it's just me." Joker shook his head.
"It's definitely the air vent." Nygma swore.

"Okay." Penguin said. Doctor Strange entered the room.
"Hello, boys. How are you all today?" He asked in a very sugary voice.
"Good." Said Joker. "When can Oswald leave?"

"Well, his chance of dying has certainly gone down. He has about 60% chance of survival. That bullet really screwed him up." Hugo Strange sighed. "And he should not be eating pancakes."
