"We'll pay you to be with (y/n)."

"You make her a better person and that's all we want. So what do you say?"

8 months ago (y/n)'s parents sat me down and proposed I date their daughter for a certain time period and they would pay me for it. At first, I was all for it. I needed the extra cash and she wasn't horrible or anything so I could definitely do it and think of it as a job. Well, 2 months in I returned and gave them all the money back. I couldn't take the money since I was actually falling in love with her. My feelings are really so when she texted me the reason she wanted to break up I was hurt and shocked and just wanted to scream at her parents and not her. She deserved so much better and I should have come clean 6 months ago about the whole thing and tried to repair it then not wait 8 months.

-AFTER THE TEXT-

I'm gripping the steering wheel tightly, knuckles doing white as I press on the gas pedal. I was beyond furious. Parking in front of the house and knocking on the door I was let in and went straight to the living room where (y/n)'s mom and dad sat on the couch.

"You don't deserve your daughter. I know that I am no saint and I don't deserve her either but you don't even deserve to see her beautiful pure soul. She found out and broke up with me. I can accept it. What I can't accept is standing by while you two act like loving parents when you are not. I gave you ALL the money you paid me to be with her the first two months after I realized I was falling in love with her. Promise me you will use that for her and not yourselves. Whatever she wants she gets or I'm taking you and your reputation down." My body shook from the extreme anger. My voice shook but was stern as I yelled every word. I was furious but I was more mad with myself than anyone else.

"Son, do you know what you are saying right now?" I nod my head and stand up straight with my chest up.

"Yes I do but life isn't worth it without her in it... so if I have to go down with the ship I'm willing to go down with it." Her dad looked over at her mom and gave me a nod.

"I'll text you weekly updates. Don't worry she'll stay spoiled thanks to you." Turning to leave I bump into a crying mess standing there looking up at me.

"Did you mean everything you said?" She asks between sniffles.

"Yes, baby... I meant everything. I love you so much but I hurt you and understand you can't just overlook that." Fighting the urge to reach out and wipe her tears and hug her tightly I walk past her to the door when she stops me. Her small hand held the bottom of my shirt so I wouldn't go.

"Please... if everything you said is true... I have no reason to break up with you... you didn't take the money... and you just showed me you love me enough to even threaten my parents so... please don't go." I turn around and pull her into me hugging her tightly shaking in my skin from the swirl of emotions.

"I love you so much and I promise to spend the rest of my life showing you how much I love you."
