Alexander didn’t have time for small talk or pleasantries. He pulled out his phone and called Michael directly. "I’m at the reception," he said curtly.

Michael, who had been busy with his own work, was surprised. Alexander rarely showed up at his office unless it was important. He rushed down to the reception and, upon seeing Alexander, reprimanded the receptionists for keeping his friend waiting.

"Next time, if you make him wait, you’re all fired," Michael said firmly, then turned to Alexander, smiling. "Come on, buddy, let’s head to my office."

As soon as the door to Michael’s office closed behind them, Michael turned to Alexander with a curious look. "What’s going on? For you to come all the way here, it must be serious."

Alexander wasted no time. He pulled out his phone and showed Michael the photo he had taken of Larry and Sophia. "I need you to dig up everything on this guy. His name is Larry Gilbert."

Michael glanced at the photo, and his expression changed immediately. His face darkened as he saw Sophia in the frame. "Alex... don’t tell me Sophia is cheating on you with this guy?" Michael’s voice was full of indignation. "Jessica was right, man. She doesn’t belong to our circle. How could she do this to you?"

Alexander’s jaw tightened, but he said nothing as Michael continued his rant.

"You know what? We should deal with him. Let me hack into his accounts. We’ll steal all his money, ruin his life. Sabotage his businesses. See what he has left after we’re done with him. And Sophia... for doing this to you, man, let’s send them both to that place where you sent that other guy. They’ll—"

"Shut up!" Alexander’s voice thundered through the room, cutting Michael off mid-sentence. The air turned cold, and Michael froze, realizing he had overstepped.

Alexander’s glare could have cut through steel. "If you say one more disrespectful word about my wife, you’ll be the one I send to that place."

Michael’s face turned pale. He remembered all too well what Alexander was capable of, and he had no desire to end up wherever Alexander sent his enemies. "I’m sorry, Alex. I didn’t mean—"

"Just shut up and listen," Alexander interrupted. His voice was calmer now, but the anger simmered beneath the surface. "That guy in the photo is the same man who helped Gerald escape from prison. He’s been getting close to Sophia, and I need to know why. His name is Larry Gilbert. Find everything you can on him."

Michael nodded, realizing the gravity of the situation. He pulled out his laptop and immediately got to work. His fingers moved swiftly across the keyboard as he started hacking into databases, searching for any traces of Larry Gilbert.

Meanwhile, Alexander paced the room, his mind racing. He had thought the encounter at the hotel was just another bump in his rocky marriage, but now, seeing the pieces come together, it all made sense. Larry wasn’t just some random client of Sophia’s. He was involved in something much deeper, something tied to Gerald’s escape, and Alexander needed to find out exactly what that was.

Minutes ticked by as Michael worked in silence, the only sound in the room being the rapid clicking of keys. Finally, after what felt like hours, Michael looked up from his laptop.

"I’ve found something," he said, his voice low.

Alexander stopped pacing and turned to face him, his eyes narrowing. "What is it?"

Michael turned the laptop around to show him the screen. "Larry Gilbert isn’t just some random guy. He has connections to several underground organizations, including the one that helped Gerald escape. He’s been moving around under different aliases, but the trail always leads back to him. He’s dangerous, Alex."
