Larry shrugged. “Our paths have crossed. She has a way of making sure she’s always in the spotlight, if you know what I mean.”
Sophia sighed, feeling a wave of frustration at the mention of Jessica. “Yeah, she’s been… around a lot lately. It’s exhausting.”
Larry chuckled softly. “Jessica has a talent for stirring up trouble. But you? You seem like you can handle it.”
Sophia smiled at the compliment, though the situation with Jessica still weighed on her. “It’s not easy, but I trust Alexander.”
“That’s good. Trust is everything, especially when you’re in this kind of world,” Larry said, his voice softening. “Just know that if you ever need someone to talk to… well, I’m always around.”
Sophia appreciated his offer, though she didn’t fully know what to make of it yet. Larry was charming and supportive, but there was still a mystery about him that kept her cautious. “Thank you, Larry. I appreciate that.”
The two of them finished their coffee, and Larry insisted on walking her back to her car. As they parted ways, Larry smiled warmly. “I’ll see you around, Sophia. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything.”
“Thanks again, Larry. Take care,” she replied, waving as he walked off.

Back at Valmere
Later that evening, Sophia returned to Valmere feeling slightly lighter after her chat with Larry. Alexander was in his study, reviewing some documents when she entered the room.
“Hey,” he greeted, glancing up with a smile. “How was your walk?”
“Good,” she replied, sitting down across from him. “I ran into Larry at the mall. He invited me for coffee.”
Alexander frowned slightly, a name not ringing any bells. “Larry?”
“Yeah, don’t you remember? The guy who dropped me off the other day,” Sophia reminded him.
Alexander’s expression shifted slightly, recalling the moment. “Oh, right. Him.”
Sophia smiled, not noticing the subtle change in Alexander’s demeanor. “He seems nice. He’s been really helpful lately.”
Alexander nodded, but this time, a trace of suspicion flickered in his eyes. He didn’t know much about this Larry, but now that Sophia had mentioned him again, it was enough for Alexander to make a mental note. He didn’t like unknowns in Sophia’s life, especially when it came to people suddenly showing up and being overly helpful.
“I’m glad he’s been helpful,” Alexander said, his tone neutral. “Just be careful, alright?”
Sophia raised an eyebrow, sensing his concern but not fully understanding it. “I will. Don’t worry.”
As the evening wore on, Sophia felt grateful for Alexander’s steady presence. Jessica’s attempts to stir trouble couldn’t shake the bond they shared, but she also couldn’t ignore the new dynamic forming between her and Larry. Time would tell what role he would play in her life.
Sophia stretched her arms, the soft glow of morning light streaming through the curtains of Valmere. The villa felt unusually quiet, and the routine of working from home had begun to feel stifling. She missed the energy of Allure Fashion, the buzz of the office, and the excitement of working alongside her colleagues. Today, she had made a decision—it was time to return to the office.
At breakfast, she brought it up with Alexander. “I think I’m ready to go back to the office. Working from home has been nice, but it’s starting to feel... dull.”
