Nixie
"Wait," Shay cries, "I have so many questions. You can't leave me hanging like that!"
I sigh, "What?" I sag against Dillon. He lifts me in his arms, walks us inside and over to a chair where he sits down with me on his lap. Sebastian sits at 90 degrees to Dillon, his bare chest is pressing against my back, his hand caressing my arm. I relish their touches, especially Sebastian, as I thought I'd lost him. I let my head fall onto his shoulder.
"Why didn't you have to bow?" Shay demands.
"Goddesses don't bow."
"Do we call you Eranthe now?" she asks.
I sigh and think about it. I never liked Nixie, especially after I learned what it meant. But to jump to Eranthe? That was a leap. I sound it out in my head, repeating it the way Selene said it, Ar-an-thee, slowly. "How about...Ary?"
Sebastian chuckles. "Grandfather was right, flower."
"You know what that means? I've never even heard it before."
"It is a Greek name," he chuckles.
"And you're pregnant?" Shay starts before Sebastian even finishes. "When did you have time for that?"
Dillon's chuckles add to Sebastian's and only get louder as my cheeks redden. "Not answering that on the grounds you don't need to know," I tell her.
"Just know, she's MINE," Dillon growls the last word.
"Not just yours, pup." Sebastian growls and pulls me off Dillon's lap into his arms.
"Calm down," I shake my head. "Shay doesn't want me like that, she just wants to know if we," I stop, not sure what words to use, instead I just wave my hand around.
"She wants to know how you got pregnant without going into heat," Dillon explains then turns to Shay. "She is...er...was a Sprite. Sprites have normal cycles, just like humans. She didn't need to go into heat to get pregnant."
"I thought you wolves could smell it?" I ask. "Shay said you can smell all that kind of stuff."
"You have always blocked it," Sebastian says. "It must be part of your goddess powers."
Then I try to look at my neck, "But, can't you see them?"
Dillon pulls my shirt away from my neck then growls. "They're gone."
"I think your elevation to goddess-hood might have erased them...easy fix," Sebastian grins at me. He looks at Dillon, "Pool?"
"Yes." His eyes glaze over. "Give the cleanup crew an hour."
"Our inability to smell your mating might have something to do with you, little goddess," Alpha says. "You might remember none of us have ever been able to recognize your scent. But I just did. You smell like Selene."
"Consort to a goddess. I can get use to this." Sebastian laughs.
"What about the baby. Who's is it?" Shay demands.
"They," I tell her, not sure where the knowledge came from but sure of it being the truth, "are fraternal twins."
Dillon catches on first. "One for each of us."
"How?"
Sebastian looks at Shay, his one black eyebrow raised in a perfect carat. "The normal way."
