(A/N: Gonna be editing a little and make it a bit more dramatic and juicy.)
Jesse and I were in my dorm, and I was showing him my mixes. "So, I just find songs that have the same chord progressions and create a track that blends them together. So, like, this is the new bass line, and this is matching up down beats." I told him and he chuckled. "Holy shit, I'm talking really loud. But, yeah, that's me singing." I said then passing him the headphones.
"This is really good! Now, I'm the one yelling, right?" He asked and I nodded. "That is amazing, Lara Jean." He said and I chuckled. "What?" "That's the first time you've called me that." I said and we laughed. He took a quick look at me. "You should put your hair up more often. I think you look pretty." He said and I blushed, hoping it wasn't noticeable. "Really?" "Yeah." He said smiling. After a quick moment of silence: "So, I brought this over because I wanna watch you watch the end of this movie. Then I can die a hero." He said and it was The Breakfast Club.
He was getting all comfortable on my bed, adjusting pillows. "You have a habit of making yourself at home, did you know that?" I asked. "Yeah." He said and telling me to come sit with his hands. "Okay. The Breakfast Club. 1985. Greatest ending to any movie ever. This song launched Simple Minds in the US. Could've been a Billy Idol song but he turned it down. Idiot. Perfectly sums up the movie. It's equally beautiful and sad." He said.
"That is fascinating." "Right?" "Tell me, what does Judd Nelson eat for breakfast?" I asked. "Oh, well, like all misunderstood rebels, he feeds on hypocrisy." "Sure." "And black coffee, to help with his morning dumps." He said and I chuckled. "You're an idiot." "It's true. I'm full of fun facts." He said. "You should let other people tell you they're fun." I said to him.
I saw that he was mouthing the words, and I just started for a while. "You're missing the ending." He told me. "Sorry." I said and faced the computer. I then felt eyes on me and Jesse was staring at me. He was trying to come closer, looking at my lips with a slight smile.
I couldn't help but kiss him. He held my face as we were kissing, and his hands were actually so soft. I placed my hands on his chest, and I honestly didn't care about the oath at this point because my feelings for Jesse just keep growing and growing. "Did that really just happen?" I asked with a small chuckle. "Yeah. It's going to happen again." He said quietly and kissed me again. I heard the door open, and I flung myself off of him. It was Stacie and I was so scared. "And I'm out." Jesse said, gathering his things. "Bye, Stacie." "Bye, Jesse." She said and closed the door.
"You kissed, didn't you?" "How--?" "I have my ways. How was it?" She asked and sat on my bed. "I don't know. You fucking scared me though." I told her. "I won't say a word." She said. "Okay. Thanks." I said.
The next day
We were rehearsing the choreography. "Chloe, you gotta be able to hit that last note." Aubrey told her. "I can't. It's impossible. It's because of my, my nodes." "Her nodes." We all corrected. "Well, if you can't do it. Someone else needs to solo." She said. "I think Lara Jean should take my solo."
Chloe suggested. "Lara Jean would be excellent. But someone might be equally as excellent. And they might be shy and not wanna come forward and say they wanted a solo." Fat Amy said. "Lara Jean doesn't wanna solo, so..." "I'd be happy to do it if I got to pick a new song and do an arrangement." I told her. "That's not how we run things here." Aubrey said. "Aubrey, maybe Lara Jean has a point. Maybe we could try something new." "A-ca-scuse me? You can sing "Turn The Beat Around" and that's the last I wanna hear of this." She said so I just gave up the solo and left.
Day Of Regionals
It was time for us to perform the same exact routine that everyone, even me, are so bored of. When Amy started the solo, I wasn't so bored anymore because she made the whole thing better. Everyone cheered so loudly. "That was great." Jesse mouthed and made a heart with his hands as we walked by, and I chuckled. Jesse pointed to me when the lyrics "Look, mama, I owe you just like the flowers." came on and I giggled. We got second place, and we were all so happy. If it wasn't for Fat Amy, we would've got third. Jesse and the Trebles got first, and I clapped and Aubrey saw me, but I didn't care.
We saw some an older group trying to go at the Trebles. Jesse looked up to me and I shook my head. "No!" I mouthed and he nodded. Amy held up her fist, but Chloe stopped her. "I've wrestled crocodiles and dingoes simultaneously." She said and I heard Jesse. "Why do you want me to hit you? I don't want to do that!" He said and the Tone Hanger begged Jesse to hit him with the trophy. "I'm just going to check on them." I spoke. "Feel the Fat Amy Force!!" Amy yelled. "Hey." I said to the Tone Hanger and punched him. "Oh my God!" Jesse yelled. "Oh my gosh!" I said holding my fist since I punched him pretty hard.
"I've got this." Amy said and I pulled her back since she grabbed the trophy. "Amy, don't!" "Feel the Fat power!" "Fat Amy! Kick me in the balls!" The Tone Hanger yelled and she did. We were pulling side to side as I was trying to take it away and it broke. One part fell into the window and broke it. There was a cop outside too. Amy then ran away. "Amy!"
