We started training and working out. No cardio though. I'm a fun leader. "Alright, ladies, focus up. We need to beat those German dummkopfs." Aubrey said. "We're gonna beat DSM at their own game. Do what they do, obviously much better." I added. "And we're about to do a full skills assessment to blow out our choreography to match." Aubrey said. "But the important thing is that we have fun, right?" Emily asked. "Uh, Legacy, don't take this the wrong way but you're the dumbest person alive." Amy said and we got to work. I was working on my mixes partially as well.
After we were done, Emily approached me. "Uh, is it weird that we never got around to singing today?" She asked. "Well, it's kind of hard to start singing without arrangements and that's my job so thank you so much for reminding me." I said. "Yeah, Lara, we're gonna need that ASAP so we can start nailing down our choreography. " Chloe said. "Right on top of that, Chlo." I said. "Awes!" "Yeah, awes." I said back. "I just wanted to let you know that I've been really working hard on calming my nerves and keeping my eyes open." She said and tried to continue talking. "I'm sorry and I don't mean to be rude but I have somewhere to be. You did amazing today." I told her. "Thanks." She said.
I was at work and also absolutely tripping out because today was the day Snoop Dogg was coming in. I was giving people coffee and he was about to start singing. My boss stopped him though. "Just hold up for a second." He told Snoop. "Wait. Hold up? Man, I sound awesome right now. What are you talking about?" He asked. "Nah, it's not on you. It's a tech thing. You go ahead and take five." "It better be a tech thing cause, huh, the way I sound in my ear drums, this is immaculate, man." He said and my boss turned to us. "This song, there's nothing--nothing special about it yet. Do you know what I mean? Any ideas?" He asked and Dax stood up and I knew this wasn't gonna be good.
"All right. Hear me out. We could remove the sleigh bells and put in kalimba. The finger thing?" He asked. "I know what a kalimba does. I know how it's operated. Go in the corner. Go eat your lunch in the corner." He told Dax literally with his finger in his face. "But what I gonna do with my sriracha?" He asked. "Say one more hipster thing and I'm gonna shove you in your vintage bassoon case. Okay?" He asked then kicking the chair and telling him to turn.
"Uh, just gave him sing it again the same way." I told him since I wanted to add a little something too. "Who are you?" He asked. "Nobody. Literally nobody. I just had a thought." I added. "Okay, okay. Sure. Nobody else has an idea. Let's do it exactly the same way again." He told Snoop. "Will do, nephew." He said and my boss looked at me. I stepped up to the audio controller as Snoop started singing.
"Or it can be different." I told him and he shushed me politely. "That was amazing, Snoop. Thank you so very much. You can take small break." He told him. "Groovy like a drive in movie." Snoop said and I chuckled. "Um. You can sing." My boss said turning to me. "Yeah. I'm like a three-time collegiate a capella champion, so.. we're both huge successes in our fields." I told him. "Yeah. Let's say that. Uh, what do you do here?" He asked me. "I just get food and coffee and stuff. I want to be a singer or produce music. Whatever's better, um.." "Dax, can you do me a favor? Turn around right now and watch this exchange. That's value added, okay?" He told him.
"If you have any demos that you'd like me to listen to, I'll make the time." He said. "Oh, seriously?" "Yeah." He said and I got excited. I was done and Jesse was outside. "Hey, Snoop Dogg producer." He said and I chuckled. "Hi. And I didn't produce. I slightly helped. My boss said he'd listen to my demos." I said proudly. "Wow. Look at my girl making it out in the world." He said. I was outside the house and saw the girls jumping or having a pillow fight.
"What did I just walk into?" I asked. "We're pillow fighting!" Amy said then hit me with a pillow. "Ah!" I yelled. "You know, this is what eight year olds do." I said. "We're just relieving some stress." Chloe added. "This was on the porch." I said holding up an envelope. "What is that? It looks fancy." Aubrey said and she opened it to it making some weird chanting noise and we all got startled. "Whoa, looks like we've been invited to sing at some kind of party." She said. "We're going to sing? Finally!" Emily yelled. "Well, there's just an address and a password." Chloe corrected. "How sexy and mysterious." Amy said. Lily mumbled something.
